As always a pleasure to come here. DOCTOR We always request Dr. Anuj Chawla to treat us since he is an excellent human, a very good doctor and he is very kind in his dealings. I take my dad to injections in his eyes and he never hurts or leaves him irritated, he is very careful when touching his eyes and patient when giving instructions. PERSONAL From the staff, needless to say, they are very kind and very nice because they always support and help us a lot from secretaries to support staff are usually very affable and affectionate. WEATHER Normally, the duration is approximately 2 hours from the time I arrive until I leave because there are several studies that are done at each visit but as a distraction they put films and coffee with cookies for free. PLACE They have two waiting rooms, one on the outside that is used when you arrive and another inside, both have a TV. It's a very clean place and the lights are always dim, that's nice because it does not bother your eyes.

I was asked to rate from 0 to 10 if I would recommend Retina Institute to family or friends. Well, zero for the front office staff and ten for the back office staff (including the doctor). Let me break this recommendation down for you: On January 11 my mom had an appointment (which had been confirmed on January 9). When we showed up, her appointment had mysteriously been cancelled; therefore, you hadn’t requested approval from QualCare - so no appointment! Today my mom had an appointment (which had been confirmed January 26). My mom had a missed call at 3:30 pm yesterday stating QualCare hadn’t sent you the approval yet. As soon as she heard this message at approximately 9:00 am today, she called your office and was told you still hadn’t heard from them. She was also told you would contact QualCare again and call her back by noon. We went to QualCare and was told the approval had been resent to you this morning (we were also given a hard copy of this approval). When we got to your office at 12:15 pm, we were told her appointment had been cancelled! We were also told you hadn’t received the approval from QualCare! I handed you the hard copy. We were told you would have to compare this hard copy with what you had on file. Hmmm... we were told you hadn’t received anything - what were you comparing it to? We feel your front office staff should own up to their mistakes, not lie to your patients! We have no problem with the back office staff or the doctor.
