Trail is well-marked and distinct. There isn't any intentionally laid gravel on the path, so it's a knotty and bumpy trail. Modest ups and downs in terms of hills. It was dry when we went, but could be a little slick in the rainier months (like Raven Rock). Only weird thing was all the shotgun pellets shot through the trail markings.

Kiosk is readable and map clear. Parking area clean. Unfortunately multiple campsites have been created at the TH.

Fun trail to get out and hike or run (be careful if you run it) and enjoy a lot of up and down terrain. We did about 7 miles, 3.5 in and back out. Crossed some small creeks and a bridge over a stream. If you're in the area, a good spot to hit for the afternoon.

This trail was well-marked so you couldn't stray off the path. There wasn't much to see, just woods. Leashed pets are allowed.

Semi-safe I would carry at least a pocket knife, it's kind of secluded and it's far enough from the road once down the trail a little ways that it'd be hard to hear someone calling for help so I would at least take a weapon of sorts
Yes, most definitely. There is no leash law in Montgomery County, but I would recommend that one use a leash for animals. There are lots of new smells in the woods that may catch the interest of your animal. At every trailhead there should be posted rules. Have fun and be safe!
Yes you can go for overnight hikes. Some sections of Uwharrie Trail has designated campsites.
