Don’t put your loved one here, especially if you can’t personally check on them. The nurses are good, but overworked. Even with best of intentions, they have too many patients to check on and care for on one shift. So expect bed sores, and more. If you haven’t learned this by now, there are no good nursing homes for those on Medicare/ Medicaid. Self-pay offers the best care options and some of them are awful too. My advice: if you can somehow swing it, bring your loved one home and hire a home health company (and hopefully some friends and family can also commit) to help you take care of them. Medicare will pay some of the expenses. Some life insurance policies offer living benefits that can be used. My father became septic because he wasn’t being cleaned and his bed sores got feces in them, causing him several emergency room visits, the last one is where he stayed until he passed, because I could not under any circumstances send him back here or to any other nursing home. I let him stay in a hospital because he needed that level of care. It wasn’t covered by insurance, so we went into large debt. Before choosing Bethesda, I’d visited, interviewed and researched over 150 facilities and this location had good reviews, but not many. It may have been better before Covid, but during, the only way of seeing him was through a video call, which he was totally sedated through. I would schedule doctors appointments so I could get him out of there to see how he was doing. Never great. The way seniors are treated is absolutely appalling. It’s criminal.

You have great people who work there. then the ones who just don't care and don't belong in taking care of your loved ones. Which is unfortunate . I recommend you also checking on your loved ones !! And don't be afraid to ask for help administration is very helpful! They help me take of things for my mom !!! But you should always over see things for yourself. They are lacking in activities for dementia patients wish they would have more for them to do. !

My mom's been here for rehab of her knee the worst place they always say "that's not my job" n "i don't know let me get someone else" then no one comes. No help with therapy what so ever.Wish we went somewhere else.Maybe 1 or 2 people were helpful.Such a disappointment

My mother was here in hospice after getting COVID. Everyone was compassionate and caring. The nurses took such good care of her, making sure she was clean and comfortable. I am so grateful that I found this place.
