Had a horrible experience at Grapevine mall on Aug 4. I am visiting USA for just 4 days. Despite alerting the security and police service there regarding my 300 dollar shopping bag which was stolen in broad day light at Michael Kors store โฆPolice assured to come to see me but no one turned up. The shop has video footage of the thief.I am surprised that the team hardly cared. This thief might be part of a bigger crime so itโs important that the police can help in controlling the crime rate and making the state a safer country to live in. I have called the grapevine police department multiple times, left in my email as well but hardly any response unfortunately.... Sept 10/22- Multiple calls again to the police department-registering an official complaint but still the team said THEY CANNOT INITIATE WORKING ON THE CASE UNLESS I DECIDE TO PROSECUTE THEM ( I AM NOT A RESIDENT OF USA AND WAS VISITING TEXAS WHEN THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED)--- I CANNOT BELEIVE THAT ONE OF THE OFFICERS CANNOT GO TO THAT STORE AND REVIEW THE IMAGE OF THE PERSON ON CCTV CAMERA WHICH IS WITH THE SHOP----HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND VERY DISAPPOINTED---You can nab this thief easily and prevent further such events or robbery in your state.

I am.a citizen of Grapevine, African Ameerican, Native American and German. I call the nonemergency number to report a person loitering on7/28/22, at about 130am in our apartment complex. The first question the racist dispatcher ask me, is the person black or Hispanic. The The person was actually Caucasian.

Called to report a vehicle that appears to have caught fire in a Restaurant, I'm staying with Family at a Hotel and was trying to inform dispatch that I'm not worried about getting the vehicle towed more than I find it off that the vehicle was not there yesterday after the Restaurants closing. Dispatch was short and temperamental with me and cut me off while trying to explain my reason for calling and what was going on. I think it's great you've got a script/procedures to run through quicky, but it's a non-emergency number. Have some patience with the public you're sworn to protect. Maybe take a pause โฏ๏ธ and think that the person calling could be handing you a hint/lead to a crime? Idk what happened at that restaurant, but there's someone out there that would probably like to know their car melted down.... I don't need an officer to call me back not do I wish the vehicle towed. Slow down and listen next time.

I definitely would call the police and make a report. Walmart has cameras and they found my Kindle by identifying the woman off a camera.
No, you have to do that at the DPS office
Chief Mike Hamlin I don't believe GPD has a police commissioner, something I've only seen in larger cities like Dallas, NYC, etc
You'd have to call the Grapevine's court for the cost of the ticket. I've never had a lawyer that got a ticket dismissed, all they got me was deferred adjudication, meaning if I didn't get another ticket for like 3 or 6 months, maybe a year it stayed off my record. Next ticket I get I'm going to tell the judge I don't want to pay and put me in the city jail, with deferred adjudication!! I wanna see if it works, the fines and court costs are too expensive!!
