Amazing spot for camping a few nights or even just an overnight adventure. About 35 mile outside of Las Vegas, and 30ish degrees cooler! Absolutely beautiful.

Heads up if you’ve recently had COVID: You may be more susceptible to altitude sickness at this elevation. My husband immediately had moderate symptoms once we hit around 8000 feet, so we weren’t able to stay more than 5 minutes last night. However, we stayed a night a month ago. We love the temperature there in the summer, and the views are beautiful. Our biggest complaints that trip were that we were unaware that firewood is only sold 20 minutes away from the campground (despite requirements to use “local” firewood) and the excessive quantity of flies in the vault toilets. It also got very windy 1 AM-6 AM, so we were glad we had our rain fly on to block some of it. I tried arriving 11:30 on a Friday for the first come first serve spots but they were already taken. I am really looking forward to camping there again but will likely only go if I have a reservation.

Las Vegas Local! This place was great! There were people around so we felt safe. Yet there was space so we had privacy. We saw a campground deer. The campground was clean and so were the bathrooms. We brought our dog. We used a tent and had a nice place to put it with a great view of the mountains and the valley. The grill was great cooked us up some hamburgers. We also used the firepit, and picnic table. I had not one complaint. Thank you!

Yes
Can't be more than 30 bucks for a regular spot and yes you can bring several hammocks!
No water no showers and the porta potties are horrible the worst I've ever been to. Hopefully she really needs to be fixed up. Go somewhere else.
Look for the deposit box by the notice board. There should be pay slips with instructions you can fill out.
You can, to secure a spot, though there are some first come/first served (ff) sites usually available. People leave & arrive at various times throughout the day.
It used too be 15 dollars I’m outrage the way the prices keep going up but no showers I love the place because they keep it so clean and they have great workers very nowKnowledgeable
It's supposed to be 10 am, but in reality get there as early as possible because places are taken quickly.
You can have fires within the fire rings and grills at Hilltop Campground.
Nightly camping fee yes. Price depends on spot. Reservations highly recommended. No RV storage but some sights do have RV access. Beautiful campground but no water available.
Yes every site has fire pit and charcoal grill. Fire pit has grate you can cook larger items on. Bring wood with you.
