My main point - one of the entry doors has been completely broken for over 2 weeks. We have received no messaging about this from the office and the door is broken to the point where you can enter without a key fob, posing a serious security issue, when we pay to live in a building with security precautions. Since it was fixed and broken again twice now, I wonder if someone is trying to break in or if it was just poorly fixed. Additionally, front desk is impersonal and seem genuinely bothered when you go to ask them a question. I am only leaving a negative review because of the safety issue that is now 2+ weeks going with the door. For individual apartment issues, I have had wonderful experiences with the maintenance team, and overall have had a positive experience living here, but I am leaving this review due to the glaring security issues with clearly no effort to fix them in hopes that some action will be taken.

I was excited to see the apartment and thought it would be a tour of the amenities and the apartment like other apartments offer but it wasn't a very welcoming experiencing. The leasing manager didn't even leave her seat to open the front door for us. One of the residence opened the door for us. She provided us with all the information about pricing but did not bother to come with us on the tour of the apartment and instead gave us a map of where the apartment was located as well as a key. The hallways smelt like marijuana and alcohol which was a complete turn off for me especially since this is considered a luxury building. Apartment was very nicely staged and helped give me an idea of what it would look like living there. I wish it was a better experience as I was looking forward to seeing the building but it was less than what I was expecting. I will say the leasing manager was helpful with questions but seemed occupied and didn't leave her office to show us anything at all.

Ava H St. was a no-show for my scheduled virtual tour last week. I was called after the tour was supposed to start to inform me that there was nobody in the office. Then, after being rescheduled and given a confirmation verbally on the phone of this rescheduled tour time, the second tour was also a no-show. I received no communication at all about this second tour. This is highly unprofessional and isn't a great indication of the front desk service when people are taking time out of their workday to have these tours.

I have lived at AVA H Street just over a year now and it has been a wonderful experience all around. On move in day you can reserve an elevator for your use to quickly move your things up to any floor. The amenities including the bar yard patio (includes fire pit and two grills), the community living room with a massive tv, the gym, and more help make AVA H Street feel like a home. The maintenance team is top notch. They are professional and respond quickly to any maintenance requests. Ashley, in the office, is an absolute pleasure to deal with. She always greets residents with a smile and wave. Ashley and Daysha were very helpful in assisting me during the move in process. This is a great community to call home!
