I was grateful that my son welcomed me to participate in the recruiting process with him. He was not committed to joining any specific branch, so he visited with multiple recruiters from various branches. It was the USCG recruiter from the Philadelphia office, GM1 Jonathan Gracia, that he felt the most comfortable with, resulting in him choosing to enlist in the Coast Guard. From my perspective as a parent, GM1 Gracia handled the entire process with complete integrity. He answered my son's questions clearly and honestly, and spent a great deal of time addressing all of my concerns as a parent as well. The entire recruiting process with GM1 Gracia, and his follow-up after my son reported to boot camp, has left a positive impression of the USCG for me to share with other parents whose children are interested in military service. Thank you to all of the men and women who are serving our Country in each branch of the military!

I am in the Coast Guard and my wife and wanted to join. I did not know how easy the process would be. PO Kleinguenther made this process very easy. I would recommend anyone interested in joining the Coast Guard to talk to PO Kleinguenther. We couldn’t be happier about the process!

Given it being during Covid-19 BM2 Tyler Kleingunther was an amazing recruiter and very helpful.

It depends on how much prior Active Duty time you have. But without any AD it is 31. For CG Reserves it is 41
