The staff are nice and professional. However, I did not enjoy this lease at all. I will note, when I moved I spoke to the office about steaming my carpet with my own monster of a carpet cleaner, which they told me not to worry about bc they hired a professional service for $50 to do so and had me opt into this option. However, I was charged a $700+ carpet replacement fee for a <1 year old carpet because I had pets and was told this was standard with all move-outs involving pets. When I began my lease, the prior tenant clearly had a dog, as I was receiving chewy packages for her, and my daughter and I spent weeks with black fur on the bottoms of our feet after moving in, indicating not only the carpet was not replaced after the prior tenant left and it was not brand new, but it hadn't even been cleaned by a service. There were multiple shootings in the vacant lot next door, I know this because I saw the muzzle flash of the guns during a shootout from my bedroom window where my toddler was sleeping. There was also a man murdered in the back of the complex one morning shortly before I left, which was reported in the news with pictures of the buildings and a police cordoned off area, with police investigating. I followed this story. Maintenance men are pretty nice. However, my stove top was completely detached from the stove itself and was told it was fine. When my washer was on, the spin cycle would cause it to shake violently and the oven light would flash. There were issues with the condition of some basic stuff, like a light switch detaching from the wall which I couldn't reattach myself. Also, my neighbors washer/dryer combos shook my apartment, with the upstairs apartment being quite loud, as well as my own. The apartments are tiny, I felt very uncomfortable in mine and the rent was too pricey for what I had. I felt my kitchen barely had any cabinet space also. My upstairs neighbor blasted music and stomped constantly but the management was quick to address this issue, which I give them kudos for (thank you!). Overall, not a terrible place, not the best either. Management and maintenance are (mostly) on it. Just didn't work for me.

Krystal Hill at the office is amazing. She was so kind and helpful. Not to mention how patient she was with my move. She answered all my questions in a timely manner and went above and beyond to make sure I had an apartment ready when I got home. The sweetest staff all around.

Let me share that I was concerned about the possibility of having to move for my own financial reasons after residing in my current apt for almost a year. I spoke with the Management staff and I was able to have my stress relieved. Living at the Township in Hampton Woods has been such a great experience thus far. I really did not want to have to move since I truly enjoy the peace and comfort that I experience living here. It is great when you have people who will work with you and do whatever possible to ease your fears and/or concerns. It is also a great stress reliever knowing that if there is something that goes wrong in your apartment that Management will surely send the Maintenance team to your aid right away. Why would someone want to leave such a great community?!? I hope to see many more years in this complex. Thank you to the great staff at the Township!

After many weeks of searching for a new apartment and feeling very frustrated; I came across Township in Hampton Woods. As I drove in the community, I first noticed the beautiful grounds. The apartments have wooden enclosed patios that I fell in love with and the greenery/trees/paved walkways among buildings have a homely feel. Stephanie, complex manager, and Krystal assisted me with many questions both by email, phone and in-person with patience and timely responses. They showed excellence in customer service as well as the friendliest welcoming I have had in my apt. searches. Krystal gave me an in-person tour of the facilities; the fitness room is large with very nice modern equipment and nice size window views; the laundry room washer/dryers looked clean and maintained; and the pool area is a nice size with plenty of chairs to relax in. There is a nice area to sit in front a large fireplace, I believe this a commons area/clubhouse with internet café. I was introduced to the maintenance supervisor, who I had the pleasure of running into during two visits and was very kind and personable. I must say these folks made me feel at home, welcomed and a very easy process to secure an apartment. I do not move in for a few weeks and will share more of my experiences afterwards. Lastly, the area is perfect for walking distance to food lion grocery store, banks, shopping centers and about two blocks from the Peninsula Town Center. I highly recommend Township of Hampton Roads Apartment community and very appreciative to Stephanie, Krystal and Tommy!

Not sure but This place and management is horrendous.. I'm only dealing with it because of convenience and easy work commute...
