Went in for a follow up appointment for a broken finger. I’m covered by VA healthcare and the VA told me that my appointment will be back dated as long as the office sends a referral. I gave the front desk the info they needed and waited to see a doctor for over 40 minutes for them to tell me the doctor wasn’t able to see me because my fractures were too complex. Instead of scheduling a follow up appointment with a specialist, they lied about contacting the VA and claimed that I had to get an approval first (despite the VA telling me that they could backdate the appointment so I could get seen) and they never called, never sent in a referral, and now my finger is healing crooked because the complete neglect on behalf of this clinic. I’m most likely going to seek legal action for how I was cared for from IHC because the VA never received X-rays, or a referral for an appointment and now my finger isn’t healing properly.
