UNSAFE, menacing, threatening HOA board member - this review is for Giardino Village, a subdivision of Platina, but we feel so unsafe i want to warn people considering Plantina to ensure they know what is happening in Giardino Village. My elderly parents own a condo in Giardino village. I live out of State and I’m visiting while my father undergoes cancer surgery and treatment this summer. I have a child and two small shih tzus. One of the board members, a very tall man has taken upon himself to harass me and my son (11) when we walk in the neighborhood, he threatens to tow our car, approaches my nephew (13) and has yelled at the kids when they were without parents putting trash and recycling in bin. He defamed my sister, who also is helping my parents. He makes clear that we are not welcome and Giardino village homeowners, which used to be a senior only community, is resentful and hates younger community members and visitors with more than one dog. He is tall and menaces, today he yelled threats at me then walked back and filmed, even after I asked him to not approach me or our kids. My parent never would have bought this condo if they knew the Condo Association people would threaten and harass their family, visitors, and caretakers here to help them through chemo. Stay away if you can, the Giardino HOA fights with other HOAs so often they keep losing groundskeepers and security people in Plantina, the surrounding village so instead of security and ease, the neighbors have to get new stickers or IR tags attached to cars every few months when a new security team takes over the gate so there is always a wait to enter. They - the Giardino HOA board bully enforcers are making the neighborhood unsafe because they fight not only with the people providing security and can’t cooperate with other smaller communities within plantina, they harass visitors, guests, dog walkers, and children. Other dog owners have also expressed being harassed and menaced by this board member who view himself as entitled to menace, threaten, and harass residents, visitors, guests, and dog walkers who have more than one dog. Choose Giardino Village within Plantina for your next purchase or rental at your own risk! The Giardino HOA board don’t serve the interests of their neighbors and have made us know we are not welcome. We are Hispanic so it may be racially motivated, I’m not sure but I do feel stalked. The tall, scary, white board guy threatened to tow my car, which has out-of-state plates today and it’s not even parked in the neighborhood! “Your car is next to be towed!” He yelled that or something similar at me, while I walked my dogs, with baggies, and was trying to stay away and mind my own business. I asked him to stop approaching me but he did not respect personal space and will harass you, your visitors and guests if you move here. He was so angry and scary, He came up close to film me, menacingly. I was terrified and kept asking him not to approach but he didn’t care. He approached once without camera on then again while filming AFTER I asked him to stay away. He is very tall, I am over 5’8” and he is much taller than me. My sister who is much shorter is so scared of him she barely leaves her apartment and tries to deal with the HOA only through their lawyers. I even heard that there was a shooting at the guard gate. I don’t even live here and am just here to help through my father’s cancer surgery until my son goes back to school. I am sorry my parents thought this would be a safe place for their grandkids to stay while caring for and visiting them in Florida. It’s probably fine for isolated, elderly people with no visitors or guests, but the board bully resents and threatens to punish people who actually have visitors and guests, he yells at kids trying to put recycling and trash in the right bins, and is generally walking around trying to find smaller people to harass and threaten. I’m very sad, I feel It’s not safe for us but we are staying through my dad’s surgery and chemo this summer.

In response to Simcha Brown: The first buildings in Platina were built in 1989, so how he could say nothing has been updated since the 1960s is unfathomable. Nothing smells, and I don't know what locks he is talking about. The pools (all four) are pretty much always open. Platina is beautiful, and very well maintained. The clubhouse was completely renovated twice during the 20 years I've lived here -- most recently about four years ago. There have been countless improvements over the years, and both management and the Board are always looking for ways to make it even better. The Platina I live in, and love, seems to be in a different universe than the one he describes.

Shame on Platina for keeping Janice Flores as a face and voice in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is a welcome mat to all of us who live and visit Platina. She is a rude, crusty woman who treats the clubhouses guest like we are on a DMV line. Here is this wonderful place and we have Eva Braun waiting for for us. welcoming us.
