My grandmother stayed at Encompass Health for 9 days after suffering multiple strokes. She was extremely confused, scared, and disoriented. She had experienced a harsh decline in her mental well-being following her accident. We trusted Encompass to not only care for our grandmother but assist us with empathy during this hard time. A nurse, Patty, repeatedly disrespected and even yelled at my family members to come in to visit my grandmother, because they “needed the help” and “were unable to care for their other patients” because they had to focus on my grandmother. Not only is that extremely disrespectful but it is worrisome to hear that an employee feels incapable of doing their job due to a single patient’s needs. When my mother and I came in to visit my grandmother, the male front desk attendant gave us attitude and made it nearly impossible to visit my grandmother without us putting up a fight and asking that a supervisor be called to allow us in to visit her. They do have a 2 visitor per patient policy due to COVID guidelines, however when nurses are calling and yelling at us to come in and take care of our grandmother it is ridiculous and frustrating to be turned away by the front desk. The other medical staff (pt, ot, case manager (amanda was wonderful), speech therapist) were nothing but kind and supportive with our grandmother and towards us when explaining her treatment plan. However, this was still a very stressful and upsetting situation for my family to handle. And to experience anger and disrespect every time we came in to see our grandmother who is slowly losing her cognition and understanding of who she is, who our family is, where she is, etc. was the last thing we needed.

This place is a joke! ALL the staff are extremely rude and treat the patients like garbage. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

I had traumatic brain injury 2 years ago and I declining weak and discouraged. I also have ataxia that has come with my challenge to learn how to accept this different life and have problems with accepting this. I have been in the hospital and rehab for last few years many times so I feel that I have a up on the facilities. This is second time I type this, but I not sure what I did wrong that the last letter disappeared. The facility is very clean, the staff of dedicated and prompt when you call them. The food is delicious and comes hot, kitchen and clean crew were great as well. nurses, cna and doctors down to cleaning crew! I know that the criteria is difficult to pass, and the nice woman talking me into it. She truly tried to get me in,

I really wish I could leave zero stars for this torchure chamber. My loved one suffered horrendously in the care of this place. He was supposed to recover from back surgery but quickly declined due to the lack of care from this place. He developed awful bed sores, cdiff, and didn't have any relief at all for pain, they took his phone away etc. This is disgusting and sick. Please please beware of this place and PAY ATTENTION. I wouldn't wish for my worst enemy to go to this place. You get better treatment in jail!
