Two Men and a Truck

I recently used Two Men and a Truck for a house move from.a 3-bed townhome to a 5-bed single family. Long story short, I would use them again, but with the caveat that I'll not let their crew dismantle or assemble any furniture, especially beds or couches/sofas. Actually, do not depend on them for anything that involves dismantling or assembling. The crew assigned to my move arrived with only hand tools (no power tools), and had no knowledge (or were poorly trained) on how to use them when taking apart standard bed frames, recliner sofas or chairs or any other furniture. They will not keep dismantled parts of each furniture separate, and end interchanging parts from different bed frames when putting them back together. This will result in incorrect assembly with screws going into wrong places and furniture damage. Plus you'll end up being billed for more since they bill on an hourly basis for local moves. That said, the crew was very good in blanketing all furniture very nicely and I had close to zero damages to the moved furniture. They took great care with all the items being moved and were exceptionally good with carrying the heavy items for loading, unloading and moving them over a single flight of stairs. What they were not good at was maneuvering couches or recliners through doorways. They did not bother to unscrew the wooden legs on such furniture before trying to take them through doorways. In the end, the door jambs of my media room door were damaged badly with dents all over the frame edges. Keep a sharp eye for debts, nicks, and gouges to your drywall, especially during furniture moving up or down a staircase. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the moving capabilities and the care taken by the team that did my move. However, I still have to dock two stars for the time wasted during dismantling and botched attempts at re-assembling all three of my queen beds, failing to dismantle backrests from couches/recliners, and ruining an entire door frame due to their poor training. Top tip - save your money by simply dismantling your furniture yourself in advance, and use them only for securing and moving the items. Reassemble stuff yourself and save on the per hourly billing that they charge you.

Mixed review -what started out excellent did not end that way! First part of the move was excellent. It was a BIG move across country. The guys worked hard and did an excellent job packing. Those 2 trucks arrived on time and the only thing broken was one wine glass. If you could see the amount of stuff they packed you would be impressed. Unfortunately, there was a 3rd truck that came later. It had less than a half load in it. It was very poorly packed, everything in the truck was broken, damaged or destroyed. Many of the items were higly prized for sentimental reasons, expensive or antique. Now I am having a very difficult time with the claim process. Very poor response and keeping me posted on what is happening. It has been 2 months now and no resolution at all and almost no communication.
