The staff at the Welshwood clinic is predominantly Hispanic and although most of my experiences were positive, there were occasions when staff treated me with less than professionalism. They made me feel unwelcome and even dispised for being there . I don’t plan to go back to that location again.

I have no doubts that Neighborhood Health Welshwood is helping the community and providing essential care for people, but I am finished with their services as of today. I have had great treatment here in the past but I feel that my time and money has been disrespected and mishandled more recently. I am sad to see certain staff members have left this practice, and although the new staff is kind I worry that they do not anticipate or see the full scope of their patients’ needs— both physically and financially. I went in for lab work concerning some gastrointestinal and energy issues I have been having earlier this month. I specifically asked to have my liver enzymes checked as they were poor in a previous testing earlier this year. I was told I would receive a phone call regarding lab results. A Telehealth appointment was scheduled at the end of the appointment for two weeks later (today). I did not receive lab work but decided to be patient because I am sure that Neighborhood Health Welshwood sees many patients. Instead I received lab work results today and my prescription in my 15 minute Telehealth appointment with the doctor— which I will be paying for in addition to the initial testing. Paying twice to get results doesn’t add up to me. If the doctor did originally intend to call regarding results, why even schedule this follow-up Telehealth appointment at all? The only issues addressed in the Telehealth appointment were lab results and some vague mental health questions. I am unsure if the intention of the Telehealth appointment was to provide lab results for additional money or to follow up in some other way that I did not understand. Additionally I was informed that the requested labs (liver enzymes) were not tested for and would be checked in my next appointment which was decided to be in a month by the doctor. More testing, more payments, and I can only assume another Telehealth call to receive results/prescription after. I am planning to call and cancel this upcoming appointment. Despite being sliding scale and offering accessibility to low/no income patients like myself, I am being charged fully for these services and I feel I am being charged additionally to receive information that could have been a free follow up phone call from a nurse instead of a Telehealth appointment with the doctor. I did receive a prescription today to treat a Vitamin D deficiency, and I feel it may help my low energy symptoms but I am still concerned with my liver health as well as the serious GI issues I am having. Staff is overall very pleasant and kind with good bedside manner and multilingual. The nurses are amazing and front desk/check out staff is wonderful. I am sad to say goodbye to the good parts of this practice, but I cannot afford to keep going here and having my needs neglected. Bitterly disappointed, let down, and honestly feeling very hopeless.
