We ate here on a Saturday in June. Couldn’t make a reservation so we put our name in and they would call/text us. That isn’t an issue as there are so many great shops in this town. Got a call our table was ready. Seated and enjoyed our little spot to wait for some food. We both enjoyed our appetizers and our lunch. Service was great and we both would have the same exact thing again. Love this town even though it’s very busy in the summer.

Food was good. The service was great. It was very pleasant sitting outside at the wine garden. It was a perfect 72°F. The sweet tea was excellent. Not too sweet and a little on the strong side. I like it that way. I had a bowl of chili and corn bread. It was OK, but it didn’t have much flavor. I didn’t want it spicy hot, but it needed a little more of something. Salt and pepper helped. I also had the Smoked Trout Melt. It was good but the capers kind of overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. The rye bread really balanced it out though.

We ate the scallops, pasta and lamb. Lamb was different then what orderer had expected and waitress handled that brilliantly. Rest of us enjoyed our meals. Waitress was good. Did two different desserts that were really delicious

After a weekend of hiking in Highlands, Sunday lunch at Madison's was an absolute delight! The service was top-notch and very professional, yet hospitable. I enjoyed the service of Izabella (from Poland) and the bread service by a young man from Jamaica. I enjoyed a cup of the chicken and cabbage soup (unexpectedly delicious!), grilled chicken salad with watermelon radishes, cucumbers, yellow squash, sprouts and an edible flower. They were also able to prepare a plain chicken breast to go for my pup, which was greatly appreciated. Had I not been traveling with my dog, I would have definitely enjoyed staying at Old Edwards Inn (they don't allow dogs). Perhaps on a future visit, I will be able to enjoy a stay. In the meantime, I highly recommend a meal at Madison's, you will not be disappointed!

Questions & Answers

What foods are you known for?

Hi Jeanie, great question. Yes, we source the most local, freshest ingredients possible. If we are speaking in generalities, I'd say we are known to prepare New American/Southern-inspired dishes. Some people remark on our ability to create different experiences based on a guest's preferences--for example we can take the same ingredients and make a very formal presentation or a very casual one... depending on the occasion. That said, if we are talking about specific dishes, keep in mind that our recipes may change often--but our pimento cheese, chicken salad, sunburst trout and Painted Hills beef offerings are definitely ones that customers come back for again and again. Hope this helps! Next time you are in, please feel free to ask the Maitre d' for a more in depth description. He will be happy to answer any questions!
