When eating at this place you'll notice that they try to capture the esthetic of a western saloon. Unfortunately this can kinda get lost in how the building is layed out so it's understandable. Something to know before hand is they are a reservation only restaurant and they give you a code word to confirm your arrival at the door. So it has some exclusivity to it. The food was great but quite pricey, especially for being the only legitimate steakhouse with a 100 mile radius. Another thing to note is to ask about the other sides not listed on the menu, as our waitress neglected to tell us that side substitution was an option and they only list a few sides. My wife and I had the ribeye with baked potato and summer vegetables. We also ordered fries and a side of rice when we found out there were other sides. Her mother had a sirloin with a loaded baked potato and salad. As an appetizer we had fried green tomatoes that were overcooked on the outside but undercooked on the inside. The major complaint was the wait staff because other than taking orders and bringing food, not much interaction took place.

MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! The atmosphere is kind off here, its really like they tried to make it a fancy saloon but fell short of the goal. But the food is good not great for the price you pay but make sure you ask what other sides they offer cause our waiter didn't give us the option. We had to ask another waiter for the other sides they offered. Wait staff is the main problem here not friendly and only talked when they had to. Steaks cooked great, very juicy. The fried green tomatoes were burnt on the outside and gooey on the inside not the best feeling in the mouth... but other than that it's a good restaurant. But be prepared to spend money when eat here.

We came to Sylva for a weekend getaway and made dinner reservations at Boots Steakhouse and we couldn't be happier about our decision. The meals were very well prepared and everything was absolutely delicious. Well worth the trip!

We called around 4:30pm on Thursday and got a reservation for 7:30pm. They sat us promptly and the service was pretty good. The food was even better! We got the crab cakes, I got a ribeye and my boyfriend got the New York strip. Both cooked medium rare as requested and were huge steaks! Would definitely recommend this place to any travelers. The atmosphere is super cute as well.

They do take big groups make reservations
They space tables, all employees wear masks, felt very safe
They are probably already fully booked for Sunday
If calling them is not an option for you, submit your request via their Facebook page. Boots Steakhouse Dillsboro, NC (Dillsboro & Sylva are right on top of each other!) 😉
It's fresh.
It's all relative, not many first class steakhouses in the area. Ruths Christ is the closest by comparison and it's much more expensive. It's the high end for West of Asheville but I found they have steadily improved. They pay more for prime beef, so those prices are higher than choice grade you receive at other local restaurants. If I chose between Boots and Ruth's Christ, I would pick Boots every time. Boots actually cares about your patronage. So, if you want cheap steak, go to Sage Brush in Waynesville. If you want to be treated like a valued customer and served Prime Cuts of beef, go to Boots Steakhouse.
We love this place and miss the bar tender. Drinks are not like they should be. Please Colleen look into this.
