Stayed overnight here and it is a nice area near the peak of the mountains with lots of chickadees, ground squirrels and other wildlife. Very quiet and rugged. Like a lot of the campgrounds in the area it gets super packed around holidays, so if you want one of the FFS (first come first served) sites you'll need to get there early.

This is a great small campground with quick access to the Mount Rose trailhead and a short drive to Lake Tahoe. Many other hikes, swimming, or other outdoor options nearby too. There are a variety of sizes of campsites allowing for small or large groups, for both tent and RV camping. The picnic tables and campfire pits are good quality, and some sites have cement pads around the fire pit. There are bear boxes for food at each site too. There are no showers but the bathrooms are well maintained and always stocked with TP. The camp host was kind and welcoming. I will definitely return again! 5 star!

The campground is still open. Today is first came first serve basis. It is closings for the winter no the 20th of this month. Hears an updated on the weather. For the past 3 nights. The temperature was between 34. And 28. So warm clothes and lots of warm blankets. A heavy coat would be good in the day. Have a nice day
