The small charcoal grills are free to use on a first-come first-served basis. Propane grills are not permitted within the park. The large grill next to the pavilion is included with the pavilion reservation.

Only really crowded on the weekends, flies only bother me after I've been in the water, pack bug spray. The crabbing for me has been touch and go, don't go right after a storm, wait at least 3 days.

Its open 10 to 6. They monitor how many people can go in at a time so there may be a wait of they are full.

The "new picnic and pavilion rental form 2019" can be completed to reserve the pavilion. I suggest you contact the Parks Administration Office at 1-732-506-9090 to check availability first. Reservations are on a first-come first-served basis.

Hi Kate, yes you can reserve the pavilion. Since the park is owned by the County of Ocean, please call the Parks Administrative Office at 732-506-9090 to reserve the pavilion for your group. The staff will provide you with available dates and direct you to the picnic reservation form that must be filled out. As dates fill up quickly, I would suggest calling as soon as you have a date in mind.

I see people using them all the time. I'm guessing anyone can use them. Only the roofed area with all those tables has to be reserved for a price.

Yes over at the marina just before you enter the park, it's called trixies landing

It is a contained park mostly for walking, crabbing, and fishing along the water. There are also play areas for kids. It wouldn't be the first area I'd take a bike. Cattus island would be better.

You may purchase a beer and wine permit along with a picnic application. Otherwise, alcohol is not permitted in the park.

Boat launch is outside the main gates on the south side of the road. The park is scheduled to open by the summer.
