100% love this "forgotten " historical park.

There was no one anywhere, but it was a nice way to get out of the hotel room and explore. The website is outdated. There is no running botanical gardens or payment at the front, but it was still a nice outing.

I was only able to explore a quarter of it, but it's definitely saved in my hidden gems, and I will return. If you love history, nature, and exploring this is the place!

Beautiful but a little eerie, not sure when it was last maintained by any agency or volunteers. Just me and kids out there.

Woodmanston is the name given the rice plantation by my LeConte ancestors, I need to research the source of the name but I think it was an invention. The LeConte family landed in New Rochel NY in 1699 having been kicked out of France (Huguenots), and a branch of the family ended up in GA in the 1700s.
I'm not certain if there's a posted rule but be aware this lovely property is very remote and there's rarely anyone there. It's very wild and unspoiled.
