There is no bus tour affiliated with Tryon Palace. There is a New Bern Trolley Tour if you want to see all of New Bern, including a drive past the Governor's Palace. The tour meets across the street from Tryon Palace, but tickets are purchased by a separate entity.

Tryon Palace was originally built between 1767 and 1770 as the first permanent capitol of the Colony of North Carolina and a home for the Royal Governor and his family.
I'm just a shuttle driver, a volunteer, but I'll check it out I go back to volunteer on monday. It could be Rose of Sharon. Not sure what it actually looks like but I'll check.

Hi Richard - There is a Lanterns on the Lawn planned for the Fall 2019. Check our social media and website (and newsletter) for announcements!
I agree with Courtney. I would definitely call the Tyron Palace Visitor Center and ask who to get in touch with about something like that. They should be able to point you in the right direction, maybe not the exact person but someone who can put you in touch with the right person.
New Bern was the original capital of North Carolina and Tryon Palace was the Governor's Palace when the colony was established. It was then removed and a road was built in its place. Then in the last 2-3 decades a group of local people founded a fund and initiative to rebuild the structure and this is how the current Tryon Palace was established.
To go into the Palace and other buildings, it is $20.
$20 for access to everything... then $12 for galleries only... there are usually some combo deals too!
Yes! There are multiple wedding venues on the property. It does need to be rented, so contact our Special Events team for more information.
Some do, but not all are dressed in period costumes.
