Yes you can, but has to be purchased inside store where you pay for pass and bait...
No, you do not need a state fishing license. You purchase a pass for $5 that allows you to fish for the day. The pass is a wrist band purchased at the small store at the beginning of the pier.
Yes you can park there. Its not too far to walk. Its very beautiful there
Enough room for at least 50 people??
Yes, however you do have to pay to crab off the pier at the gift shop you can't use the nets on the pier except to pull your fish up to keep. You need to get your own fishing supplies which they do carry in the store
Yes
Salt water
I do not believe so.
There are rods in the shop before you walk the pier but don't recall if they are rentals.
No beach access
I yes I think to all your questions the answer is yes if you can't rent it you make him buy one
The Mount Pleasant fishing pier is beautiful, well-constructed, and has all the amenities. You can catch Speckled Trout, Flounder, Redfish, Bluefish and Sheepshead. Those are the desirable game fish that are available. As summer heats up, you might also have a shot at Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, or an occasional Tarpon or Spanish Mackeral. You will have a better shot catching all the fish listed above using live bait, such as live shrimp, mud minnows, finger mullet or fiddler crabs. Artificial lures also work with these fish, except Sheepshead, which solely eat crustaceans and crabs. If you use frozen shrimp (as opposed to fresh dead whole shrimp), and other cut or dead bait, then you will tend to catch more baby sharks, stingrays, saltwater catfish, puffer fish, pinfish, toad and other nuisance species. Those are just the facts of fishing in South Carolina during the summer and not knowing the location. It's also part of not having a boat and being limited to fishing from land.
No
$5 and worth every penny! Great fishing and beautiful scenery!
I just talk to the staff at the pier the daily pass you purchase is all you need nothing else.
No. You would have to get those from a tackle shop. The closest one to that pier is Hadrell's Point tackle shop on Coleman Boulevard.
They dont sell fish. You can catch fish. I have caught several blue crabs there.
The shop on the pier can probably sell you the best bait to use.
You can get bait and licences at peir gidt shop
You need a pier use pass that's about $5 per day. You can also buy a yearly pier pass for $60 (resident) or $80 (nonresident). No SC fishing license required though.
Caught a few toad fish there about 3 weeks ago. Using fresh shrimp.
