As a Hispanic male and USMC veteran, I was lucky enough to deal with Deputies Chapman & Dyckerson (On two separate instances) These deputies showed respect, professionalism, and DE-ESCALATED! the situation which often, many officers forget is the primary objective. If more law enforcement agents behaved in the manner that these two did, there would be less issues and more trust in the communities. Hats off to this department!

The Civil Division was polite and courteous. I understand that they have a job to do. Why shoot the messenger? I was treated with respect and never felt intimidated. I support our Sheriff and the hard work that is being done to protect the citizens of Kershaw County.

No help at all! I understand in a domestic violence situation it's always going to be one person's word over the other especially if there are no witnesses to the situation. But... When someone calls in to try to help find the victim and asks for the police to be on the lookout for the vehicle the victim could be in so we can get her to a safe place, help should be available. Not be brushed off and told that the police will do their job. The thing is they aren't doing their job. No help was offered to her to take her to a women's shelter and no help was given to me when I asked for the police to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Does my friend have to die at the hands of him first before someone will listen or help?!

Sheriff is OK but Civil Division kind of does favors for people....whether other private citizens or for attorneys. Remember fellow citizens they get paid to deliver specific paperwork. They will just use their badge to intimidate you. I allowed entry but kept the tapes I made. Civil is the Sheriffs weakest link.
