It trespassing and the building is falling apart from the inside out. But its nice to see some rooms untouched by vandals, gave me an eerie feeling. Hope this places is renovated and used again in the future.

Beautiful old school just sitting there to rot, sadly a lot of vandalizing has happened but still just an amazing site to see.

Google said open to the public, but there were signs everywhere saying private property. Very disappointing to see the place in ruins! Obviously who ever owns it does not care at all!

According to locals, the caboose was acquired for the school for educational purposes as there is an active railroad line just across the street.
Do a search for "Cumberland County GIS" and find the property on the map. Then click on the property and you can access the property tax information including the owner registration.
The train car is called a caboose. Prior to 1980, every train ended with a caboose, an office for the conductor and brakemen. Since they were no longer used, the school was given one by the railroad nearby, probably for educational purposes and as a play area for the children at recess.
It was constructed in the early 1920s. It was closed in the 1980s due to high maintenance costs and probably the presence of asbestos. There are portions that are collapsed making it very unsafe inside. I received written permission to take exterior photos.
