Just moved to the area. I kept seeing the signs so I followed. The museum was closed when I arrived but a storm was rolling in with a blanket of Fog. I felt like it was the perfect time to be seeing this really piece of nautical history. I really felt like I was on a movie set. I am now on a quest to visit more light houses in the new state I call home. Pure Michigan💡🏡

Awesome spot!!! Has something for just about everyone in a small area. You have the dock/boardwalk where you can watch all sorts of boaters going to and from Lake Michigan. Some folks were fishing out there. You could swim or watersport at the awesome sandy beach. No water shoes were needed for my twinkle toes. Last but not least a little slice of architecture and history for those like me. Nice, cheap way to spend a couple hours.
