This place is really helping take care of the abandoned animals of Atlanta. My wife and I took Atticus out for the day to Sweetwater Creek. His first time out since coming to the shelter. Great dog. This place is making a difference for these animals.
Carole Mercer
A long process. Very kind staff. Very worth while.
Mary Stille
The people were nice but they need a better system , I wanted to get this dog that was there named Shane but they put him and us in a cage full of feces and vit and then put a lactating female in the cage beside us , he had zero interest in people and then growled aggressive when I was in between him and the female , that blew all chances of an adoption, the folks there care and work very hard to help the animals , they just need to work with them a bit more if they have time and think before you place an animal, ask yourself what could happen or what should happen.
Wilma Sherman
I was trying to rehome my dog I can't take care of her anymore they wouldn't help I did want to leave her in the street but they didn't care
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I'd say try a no kill shelter or try to reach out to friends/family.
Yes
I have a Yorkie mix with puddle for free
They should take them.
Yes you should drop him/her off asap
Do u have a picture of the dog
i’m interested! if it’s still available
When I went there no puppies at that time ,but they did have small dogs around 13 yrs old ,they had puppies already adopted out
Is it house trained
I am also looking for a free puppy if anyone has any
You can, but it maybe by appointment. You may want to call before you go there.
Hi cynthia. I'm so sorry to hear your baby's end is near. Unfortunately they do not perform these services. Other bizz like Petsmart do. They hv a few options avail.
Check there fb page
You bet! We brought our beautiful girl all the way home to Canada.
Hello friends,,, I'm looking for a shih-tzu myself,,, I tried Craigslist and got duked out of my money so don't trust the either,,, the shelters doesn't keep small dogs long at all everytime I check there it's says their there but when I get there they are gone,,, I live in Cartersville,,, they don't have any small ones either and their adoption price is way higher than Fulton county... I would say if you can find a friend or family to give a pet a home try that first before putting in a shelter...
This shelter is very overcrowded at the moment and I don't think they can hold more dogs. Probably better to reach out to other shelters or foster programs
Contact Lifeline animal shelter
Yes you can. You will have to go on the website and speak to one of the staff about foster procedures.
Yep just walk in appointments are after you adopt for pickups,
This shelter has all ages of Pit Bulls. More than any shelter that I have ever seen.
Were you able to help this animal?
Yeah, tried that and it just tells me to leave a message, no one calls back
If I remember correctly it's 65 for cats 40 to people who are 55 and over.
The standard was $85 for a puppy.... However I went and received my puppy for a small donation because they had a deal going "Ugly Sweater" dog adoption. This came with a spay/neuter and a chip.
Nicole yes you can. They open up at 11am. There is a surrender fee of 35 dollars but they will get him to a great home. Look online and see if there is a rescue application but im sure you can drop him off with no problems Also you can try a rescue shelter and Craigslist. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Call the fulton county animal shelter and see how much is there surrender fee for the cats also they have a resuce department that might bw able to pick them up as well. Also what i would do is make an ad online craigslist, free pets and allow them to relocate to another home. There are many rescue shelter that might help. Best of luck 2 you. I hope this helps a little bit.
Yes, call them.
They always need volunteers to help. You can sign up for a volunteer orientation on the website for the Lifeline Animal Project website. Just make sure to select the Fulton County Animal Shelter, as they also operate in DeKalb and Avondale Estates. If you can't make it to a volunteer orientation, you can always help out by sharing their social media posts with friends and neighbors or by bringing donations to the shelter. They need things like old towels and newspapers, that people tend to just throw away.
18, unless: A parent or legal guardian must complete a volunteer application and sign a volunteer release form for youth volunteers (Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times). Only volunteers 18 or over may work with dogs at the shelter. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has also met the above requirements for becoming a volunteer.
Yes they have a varieties of puppies of different breed to make a selection
Yes you can. Hope it get a new home soon
Do you spay dogs and how much?
Fulton county animal shelter will find him a good home.
I'm sorry no one answered this when you originally asked. Lifeline Animal Project which operates the shelter does have food programs to help people keep their pets. I recommend calling the shelter directly to speak with a staff member.
Try your local animal control agency.
It is a good idea to bring a picture ID and some form of payment for the adoption fee. If you rent you'll need your landlord's contact information to verify you are allowed to have pets.
I don't think so. I only saw 1 Shepard and poor guy was so skinny it was pitiful. And they do not have any cats at all.
The shelter does their best with animals, but I would definitely try to find a loving home first ...(if possible)
Definitely. I just brought my neutralized, chipped, and vaccinated buddy home today!!
Go to the animal shelter and do volunteer work while working with dogs that have a leash only and let them signed it for you.
Go to Fulton County Animal Service.. You can have more than one...
Please check with the agency you're adopting from
I hope someone takes your dog for you soon
Calling is best, please have your phone number when you got it done on hand. You can also stop by any veterinarian practice and ask them to scan the microchip on your pet, it should be free at nearly any practice if you only need the microchip number.
Take him to the fulton county animal services. They will take him
Hi, where can I find a picture? Do you know how old he is?
Hello that's really a question for the animal shelter, it's better to have a friend or family member watch him honestly
Go to the shelter in person if you're trying to reclaim your dog. You can also contact them by email, but I wouldn't wait any longer, your dog could be adopted out after a months time.
Small chance of her being put down, but not very likely. Small dogs have a good chance of adoption
At this particular shelter, I have only seen dogs in person. Cats are available, but not on site. Never have I ever seen bunnies.
Call the humane society midtown, its a no kill faculty. This faculty will euthanize the dog within 3-5 days. Double check kill policy.
I know they take donations of all kinds... they might actually take them to send them home with dogs that get adopted. Because of the severe overcrowding I don't even know how they take the dogs outside or get any play time or anything like that which I'm assuming they don't. But as far as blankets I can guarantee that they will take them especially with it getting colder it will be cold there
You would need to call them directly, also there are organizations online if you look for help with pet medical procedure or bills. Even if the organization is out of state the could help, you have to try all of them. 5 years ago I received hell from a group in North Carolina, you just have to reach out. Or look for pet insurance.
I'm so sorry but I just got rid of one dog that I had to put down
If u live in fulton county go to the website and click on the resource tab button scroll down to where it says Pet help Resources and assistance fill out the pet help request form and wait 24 to 48 hours to hear back from someone
The website says Dogs$85 Cats$65 Dogs and cats over 5 years old$40 Adoption to people over 55 years of age$40
Yes they will yes they will find him a home they are so nice there my dog is so big he was so beautiful oh my God y'all are making me miss my baby but yes they will so you call them and then they tell you how to go fill application out online and explain your story why you can no longer care for your dog you know make your situation good and they'll help yes they will and they will find them a good home
I'm sorry Danielle you got to give your baby up I called them and then they told me to go online and fill out a little report about why I need to give him up and things of that nature there and then someone called me and gave me a date to come bring him in it's a no-kill shelter and a total cost when you're taking was a $15 fee you look for process in the paperwork but then no kill and they find homes for the for the pets I hope this is helpful to you
I don't work there. I adopt a dog from there. Sorry.🤗
https://www.fultonanimalservices.com/adoptable-animals Check their website - it's always up to date. I hope you find your perfect companion! They have many really kind and beautiful animals here.
Take your cat to the animal control or call them and ask about putting him up for adoption.
Animal control
They use Purina.
Do you have pictures?
No kill
My recommendation is to call fulton county animal services and talk to the attendants. They are very helpful. They may be able to have an animal services officer come by and pick up the dog. I don't think that it is a service that they typically offer but they may be able make an exception for you.
Its $85 to adopt, but definitely call ahead and check the website
They should take it. You'll have to make sure that they are up on their shots and call them to make an appointment.
Dont know for sure call them they are very helpful
Not sure what to say... Care for him until he is safe.
Take him to the animal shelter they found a great home for my lab cause I wasn't able to keep her anymore.
It's normally $85 for dogs but they often will have discounts on the adoption fee
Depends
Are cat what?
Yes
I mean omg is that what they do when you surrender a dog you got from them
You have to actually take your dog to this kill shelter. They wont respond to you here.
Is this a question? Did your cat eat chocolate or are you trying to get rid of it?. If it's the latter you should bring the cat to the shelter and sign it to the shelter.
What happened to the dog?
Yes you can surrender your pet , you will have to pay I think $50 dollars to surrender
Animal control for your zip code
They should take him but if not she can take him to Atlanta Humane Society
Yes. They are very friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the Atlanta humane society and control are so overcrowded that they are liteally giving them away with no adoption fees. And the suggestions left above, although I am sure that she the best intentions, but Atlanta humane and control ARE kill shelters, which is why they are offering free adoptions with free food and vet assistance for life if you adopt a pup. Try PAWS Atlanta , rescue shelters , and Facebook market place and online flew markets ,
Are you able to bring pup to the shelter?
You can take him to the Fulton County Shelter. They will take him in and find him a good home.
I'm sorry. Not sure I thought you were talking about a dog. Check pet smart, or someone who owns a pet store. Are you in Atlanta?
Do any of you know of someone that will foster 2 6mo. Old pups...please someone say yes and if so contact Angels Among us pet rescue in Atlanta GA. Please 🙏
Hi Jen, anytime you drop off an stray they have to be processed into the center like any other dog. It usually take up to a week or possibly less but they have to make sure she's not a vicious animal and she needs to have all her up to date shots and they have to see if she can be adopted is she friendly with children things like that. I would give it a few more days and check back, but you can always call them with that tracking number they gave you and they will give you an update on her status. Good luck honey.
Call animal control. Yes they will come get them.
No stupid
Please call FCAS. They will charge an intake fee.
No
Is it a small dog?
Fulton County Animal Shelter will take him in if you're not able to take care of him. There are some veterinarians that may help with the care of Max at a low cost. You'll have to call around.
Take them to DeKalb County, they work with LifeLine and they won't put them down and as small dogs, they'll definitely get adopted. Fulton smells awful and the people aren't super nice. DeKalb is clean and the people are amazing. You don't need an appointment to self surrender, just check their hours.
I believe its $85
U probably need to call about appt it just drop by. Their hours of operation: Monday thru Friday, 11:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am to 6:00pm.
Depends on what county you live in. You should ask your vet what to do.
So there is no one to come take them away from here at all?
Go to DeKalb county animal Services and speak to the adoption people. They can pull all the state licenses for your pet
$65 for cats and they also do buy one get one free... $85 for dogs both are at Dekalb County Animal Services and Fulton.
Yes i would these are good people and they care about animals
It's where they marked your pupper to know where to make the incision for surgery for the spay or neuter surgery.
Call animal control
Is she a cat or dog? The adoption prices are online on the website. If you go into the pound and her information is on a green paper that means she is free.
Yes I have a yourkshier Terr MALE.. very healthy..you can get a puppy but if the person on the list isn't there as soon as the doors open than the pooch is yours. It doesn't matter who's name on the list...
I know that they offer a variety of discount programs including military. Double check with the center
When I went there it was free adoption day for dogs and cats. This included spaying and neutering, and a chip. I think they only do this every 3. months. Call them to find out the next time they plan to do it. You might get lucky around the holidays!
They can't answer questions like that over the phone. Please go to the fulton county animal services website or visit the shelter in person to take a look at the adoptable dogs.
Honestly? The only way to tell for sure is to get x-rays, or to have a vet do a physical check of the area.
You can see what dogs are available for adoption and what hours they are open on LifeLine Animal Project's website as they are the organization that operates the Fulton County Animal Shelter.
You can report animal abuse and have the animal service officers conduct a welfare check on the animal. You can find their number and hours on this page: http://www.fultonanimalservices.com/field-enforcment
You can try to find someone in your personal network to take her, or you can surrender her to the animal shelter. If you have a friend or family member who is looking for a dog, it could be a great opportunity to give her to a family who will have time for her, and you might still be able to visit with her when your daughter is well! Best of luck.
I don't have an answer for you but I thank you for reaching out and hopefully if there are any mistreated animals in that household they will be given a better life. I am not sure that this location can go investigate but I am sure they can point you in the right direction. I would call them tomorrow. Everyone there is very helpful. Good luck!
911. Technically this shelter system is an extension of the police. So when you call 911 they sent out an officer. Ive had to do it before at 1am....
What does she look like? I might be able to help
Lifeline Fulton County Animal Services
Also have to fet the animals registered with a license you can do it right there at Fulton County Animal Service is only $10 per animal is there they are neutered it's 20 if they're not
Yes report the owners
From the lifeline shelter website: "The adoption fee for dogs is $85 and the adoption fee for cats is $65. For people 55 years old or older, cats and dogs can be adopted for $40." They also have events throughout the year where they waive the fees. But you get a spayed/ neutered animal with basic shots, and they cover heartworm treatment if needed, so it's a great deal!
Hopefully your dog has been or would be brought to fulton county animal shelter where she or he would be provided with the best of care
I would adopt a cat... or two. Even if they don't take care of the birds you will enjoy staying home more.
You might want to reach out to rescues. The shelter is not a first place to turn to, especially if you want it to go to a good home.
The shelter typically has +/- 300 dogs, some of which are puppies. I'm sure you could find your new best friend! This weekend the additions are fee-waived!
Take her to a vet. She won't get better at a loud, dark, scary shelter. Just get sicker or make others sick.
If you are giving them up..I would suggest you find a pit rescue group. There are so many pits at the shelter and I would think finding a good home from there would be difficult. A rescue group will socialize them and insure they are placed with the right family.
Can i see pictures please
Ues. They do offer that service. There is a consent form you will need to download and fill out. Its best if you call, speak to a representative and schedule an appointment. The web site has all the details.
$65, normally.
Yeah
Animal Control needs to handled the issue so that your baby could enjoy her/his deck
You would need to go there. Find your pet.Have pictures to prove the animal belongs to you. And bring paperwork showing that the animal has had it's shots in the last year and is compliant. If not they will charge you. Oh yeah most important money.😉
Debit, credit , cash. If you are a member of them on Facebook, they also have free adoption days too thats were i got my kitty from.
Yes and no. They do receive them but puppies adopt quickly.
If your adoption is approved, yes
You probably have already tried leaving a box of your worn clothes outside in a dry location. Keep the stack um, "fresh".
Not a good option for the puppies since disease is rampant there.
You would call your county animal control services and they will send someone out to check on the animals welfare.
Cats are robust, so need not worry about the weather. Have no one feed the cat for the cat may return to its home. If not, a shelter trip may be necessary.
Too long. The last time i called it took 18 hours and when they did come the officer said they had been looking for the dogs we called about for 3 weeks, Imagine that.
Not positive but probably not.
Taking it to the shelter is not helping it. Find it a home.
No, they don't board or have extra room. Just go to one of the many many many pet boarding places around.
They probably do but you would have to call the Futon County Animal Shelter.
It's a shelter for lost animals, not a boarding kennel.
Not sure. Just call.
Definitely talk to them first. If you feel too shy talking to them, leave a note in their mail box. Most people care about what other people think. If it doesn't improve in a few days, call 911 and have the police come out.
