I went into this business for the first time today after passing by it many times over the years as a lifelong Bridgeport resident. I never had a need to go in as I didn’t need anything from them until now. I decided to stop by today because I was shopping around for body armor for my plate carrier that I just ordered the other day because I’ll soon be heading over to join the fight in Ukraine in the next few months. I’m currently shopping now and gathering the gear I’ll need and body armor is a must have. This was my second business to stop at today for body armor as the first business didn’t sell the armor that would provide me sufficient protection from rifle rounds that I would require. Once I entered I walked up to a young gentleman who was very polite, and once I asked him what I was looking for he asked me what agency or department I was with. To which I replied none, I’m a civilian. He then informed me that he could not sell me body armor, to which I replied are you sure? Connecticut is a face to face only state for body armor sales and he stated that he was sorry, but that it was company policy. It upsets me that even as the law states face to face body armor sales are legal, this business still refuses to sell to civilians as if somehow every civilian that wants to buy body armor somehow has some kind of nefarious evil intentions for acquiring it. I’m not a bad or evil person. I’ve even had my firearms permit for almost 12 years without having ever committed a crime with or without my gun because I am a law abiding person. New England Uniform can continue to keep that policy if they do wish to, it’s their business and they can run it as they see fit. But I would ask the owner to reconsider that policy because he just turned down a potential customer. And all I want to do is buy something that will help protect me from getting shot over in Ukraine. Not everyone that wants to acquire body armor has evil intentions.

I recommend anyone to walk into the store and try the clothes on before you buy it. Do not buy it online because you run the risk of having the merchandise run too big or too small. They're prices are a little to high for me but if you have the money go for it
