I've been fostering with waggytail since the pandemic and have really enjoyed my experience fostering with them and volunteering in other aspects that the rescue has. Holly and the operations team are very involved in the daily lives of the fosters during the whole fostering process. For instance, each foster is assigned with a foster contact who assist the fosters with any issue you may have with your foster dog. This can range from behavioral, medical etc and they all really care about the well being of you and your foster pet. They are also very quick to answer medical request and are willing to help you find supplies if you need them. I have fostered with a couple of organizations in NYC and waggytail is defiantly the most transparent rescue I have worked with.

I've been fostering for Waggytail for two years now and have had a really great experience. You're assigned a foster buddy who helps support you during the foster period and fosters are allowed to review apps and add their input on what the dogs ideal home looks like. I take a lot of seniors and a few have had some unexpected medical issues. The rescue was able to get me an appt with their vet quickly and clearly communicated to me what needed to be done for the health and safety of the dog. Overall Waggytail is organized and responsive with any issues that crop up and I'd recommend them for both new and experienced fosters!

I first looked into Waggytail via Instagram before I moved to NYC, knowing I wanted to get involved somehow. I knew I wanted to eventually adopt, but was happily talked into fostering which ended being a wonderful experience. I was given supplies, added to a community group chat, and given a “mentor”/point of contact throughout the time I had my foster. They were super helpful and understanding whenever I needed advice or had questions. My second foster, I ended up adopting. It was the best decision ever! My dog is happy and healthy and I feel privileged to have helped made a difference in dog’s lives ❤️
