The Gateway system is also very user-unfriendly. You can spend hours trying to get into the right part of it. It's very poorly constructed. Someone hired a team of morons to build it.

Oh, good luck with that! I've called lots of numbers with looooooonnnngg phone menus that lead ultimately only to a dead end, advising you to call yet another different number.--or, alternatively, actual humans who tell you to call somewhere else; or, occasionally, to an answering service telling you the mailbox is full and cannot accept calls. It's infuriating and a giant waste of time. And don't even bother wasting more hours trying to get the Gateway system to accept your change of address. Georgia and the county should be ashamed at how they treat people in need so very, very, very badly.

DFACS was closed when I went around 1:00p.m. two days ago. The applications are at the front door as well as a Dropbox for returning the application. A security guard came to the door with a clipboard. I'm not sure if she was making appointments through the front door or not. She did not open the door.

I've been calling since the 3rd... got a letter ON the 3rd about a telephone appt ON THE 3RD...I've been trying to get the caseworker every since.... I've received no return phone calls or anything. I even drove up 90 miles just to get a call from the receptionist (because I'd left messages EVERYWHERE) telling me the office was closed...I was 5 miles away 😔.. the supervisor's number wasn't in service, the number that did work... her voicemail was full. When i did get there, the security guard confirmed that the office was closed until July possibly... about 10 cars were in the parking lot 🙄... I've still been calling and STILL CAN'T get my caseworker and I haven't received a call back.. oh yeah, on the 3rd, the day of my supposed appt..I DIDN'T GET A CALL FOR MY APPT.... the website says that they are open through the day.

You have to go in and keep checking. Calling does nothing because they will never return your phone calls.

Have you tried just pushing zero? If so try dialing the number, but change the last two numbers to get someone and ask if they have another direct number for you to dial. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me and noone ever took responsibility but its because they dnt do their job so things slip thru the cracks so u have to keep calling and tell anyone who answers ur problem and it will get handled eventually

You need to go there when they open because the line forms early and gets super long and talk to someone face to face because it doesn't take that long to get either your stamps or some type paperwork so id definitely plan a trip down there asap cuz u won't get thru that quick on the phone if you even get thru.

No,the number u have is the mumber everyone uses and they jus dnt answer the phone until they want to,all i can say is keep trying and if push comes to shove and u still can't get anyone u may need to make a trip to the office which the wait will be astronomically long there but at least u will talk with someone.dekalb county defacs is a joke of a business

Unfortunately not anymore, but if you can't make it into an office I'd suggest printing out the app and just mailing it in or calling to have them mail you an app if you dont have access to a printer.

Have you filled out the paperwork for your child if so it takes a while for them to respond but you'll get a letter from them soon i hope that that's the answer you are looking for

Try contacting her supervisor instead maybe they can assist you or try calling the customer service number over and over until u reach someone that will help you.its hard to handle business with defacs u jus gotta keep trying until u get it done.
