Went after a positive covid test running a 102.7 degree fever. Requested Paxlovid by name, stating that I am T2D and my wife is immunocompromised due to cancer. NP wrote "Reason for Visit: Cough" - I don't have a cough, at all. I have covid, with positive covid symptoms. I paid the absurd out-of-pocket $111 for the visit, and was flat out denied medication for my sickness. I am now on day 4 of 101+ degree fevers. If I had gone to a telehealth website, I could have gotten the medication I needed for $49.99. Do better Walgreens. This is not okay.

Let me start by saying that if the rating were based simply on my experience in the clinic, I would have given 5 stars. The practitioner was lovely and I was in and out quickly. My issues are with Piedmont Healthcare and the billing process. Before going in for my shingles shot, I went on GoodRX and found that most of the pharmacies in the area had a coupon for the shot..around $155-$165. Kroger, Publix, CVS etc. Walgreens was $165 but since it was convenient to me, that is where I went. The Walgreens clinic web page shows the Shingrix shot at $181. I presented my coupon when I signed into the clinic. I was told insurance would be billed and they would see if it would pay. I told them I didn't think it would, but to go ahead and file it and we would see. I wasn't ever told that to use the coupon, I had to have my shot at the pharmacy..not the clinic..which is located inside of Walgreens. 7 weeks later I received a bill for $603 which is the amount they billed my insurance and that insurance rejected. When I called Piedmont billing, I was told that $603 was just what they billed insurance and they would adjust it down to $181. I asked about using my coupon..which was the reason I went to Walgreens in the first place, and was told very arrogantly that I'd already received a 70% discount and that was all they would do. Well just because they gouged the insurance company and charged 4 times the going rate, doesn't mean I received at 70% discount. I did NOT receive a discount..they clearly show the price on their website at $181. Anyway, the Shingrix vaccine requires two shots taken 2-6 months apart. I guess they would've charged my insurance company over $1200 for both. I believe Piedmont Healthcare is what is wrong with our healthcare system..it's why our healthcare cost so much, and why insurance is so expensive.

WOW! I am SUPER impressed with my visit. Very thorough. Very nice. Listened and explained well and really cared. I would go back to this Minute Clinic in a heart beat and I'm pretty picky! I wouldn't hesitate to go back at all.

I would recommend to go to Gwinnett Clinic across the street, and make an appointment with Dr. Tanase.
You can walk in and sign in on the Kiosk
