I've been calling for the past five days stay on hold for two plus hours only to have someone answer the phone just to hang up, I never know it's this hard just to get my non-narcotic medication. Thankfully my doctor could send it to me. because if it's up to this va pharmacy I'll probably have a stroke already, the lock of care given is none, maybe if I used no va service I'll always have better care.
Fredy Hunt
Would NEVER get care from the VA. Requested Community Care exclusively. Mr. George Haizlip is a good resource in the Patient Experience Office on the third floor of the main VA hospital.

Sorry

They were nice to me. You just have to understand normal protocol and government protocol. Once you see a Dr they are good.

I been here 12 hours for chest pain. Still haven't gotten called to back. Lady at check in say she can't even tell me if I'm still on list. Have to wait till nurse come back up front and ask her. That's funny cause earlier lady looked it up on computer. The same computer the lady sitting in front of that's telling me I have to wait for nurse to return upfront.
You need to goto the Atlanta VA yourself to enroll. There aren't enough workers to enroll you on the phone.
So true and so damn sad.
Umph.
The VA has a front door program for Veterans who need immediate help and assistance to get from and keep form being homeless. You need to goto the main VA on Clairmony Road and go-to the Regional Office to assist you as well.
You gotta go down there, in person. Go to the fee basis department. Depending on your status they will pay it but on their time, not yours. You have to ask the billers for more time, etc...Just go to Decatur
Hi Greg, yes your son can wait in the waiting room areas. It also, depends on what type of appointment your having and how your doctor feels about that. Sometimes, they do mine if you have someone supporting you in the room and others just won't allow it. I would suggest that you contact your nurse and ask questions about that then you'll know what to expect! Good luck with your appointment and my God continue to bless you with the love and support of your son!👍
You can visit the Veterans at the main hospital. You need to got to volunteer services to find out where is the most need for lonely veterans. The problem with many of the answers here is that people don't read the handbooks. The VA has online and physical handbooks that state all the rules of the VA, there is no need for confusion or misinformation. 1. Look for and answer to your question a the VA website. 2. If that doesn't work go to Volunteer services. 3. Follow their procedures and live your dream. I hope this answer helps you in your goal.
Its easier to go there
This medical facility is designated for treating people who served in the US Military. It specializes in the types of medical issues that are usually uncommon to the larger population. If you have an emergency: dial 911 from a phone and an ambulance will take you to the best hospital for treating you.
The VA is open 24 a day by having an emergency room. If you have an emergency call the cilvians first you know 911. But you can use our place for regular appointments and what not, during the day at different times. Just be sure to have you ids and dd 214 if you're just starting out.
They don't seem to be running them at this time.
I was on hold for 48, 32, and 18 minutes respectively today simply trying to get in touch with dental, only to get a VZW message that stated the number was disconnected.
Yes, valet parking and several parking decks. Get there early though.
Park in the large deck behind the hospital or use the valet service at the front of the hospital if the line isnt too long. Parking is difficult so don't worry about finding a close spot, just find any spot you can.
This is a slightly different topic answer but one you may find useful in the future. Aside from just the ER, as a veteran with VA benefits there are number of urgent care facilities that you can go to and all you have to do is show your VA card and the VA will take care of the billing. One of the best things you can do is contact a patient advocate at the VA and they can give you a list urgent care facilities in the area (and there are a number of them) who will accept your VA card and not charge you.
Not sure. Call the advice line
7am-4pm. There is always a wait due to parking issues currently.
What spin numbers are you talking about?
My answer to that would be call hospital and ask for admissions. Usually they only give information like that to family.
Veterans who retired after 20+ years do have Tricare which changes to Tricare for Life when Medicare starts.
The regional office up on the hill. I suggest the DAV or a rep from whatever war era u are.
You have to call the information line at your local VA hospital. Also, the information that you seek maybe on the website for the VA.
You need to call the VA maintenance unit to find that information out.
You need to call 911 or go-to your nearest Emergency Room. I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but you said your foot was infected and your a diabetic. I wish you the best of luck, but if I were you I would go to my closest hospital for prompt assistance in this matter.
Only the Emergency Room is open 24 hours. The Mental Ward is open 24 hours. The part of the hospital that has beds is open 24 hours. All other departments of the hospital are closed. Hours of all non- life threatening conditions are Monday- Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. The most perfect answer ever given on the matter. Amen
The Atlanta VA just switched from CHOICE to Non VA Community Care, NVCC. They are experiencing some growing pains and backlog from being understaffed, which is being addressed aggressively. Request your consult be resubmitted by your primary care provider (PCP). The PCP will submit the consult to the appropriate specialty care clinic and it will likely, likely be sent to NVCC for scheduling in the community. Be prepared to identify a provider who will accept VA payment, the day of the week that is best for your appt., and morning or afternoon appt. time. This will help expedite your consult. If the provider accepted choice program, most often they will accept NVCC.
From the decatur station you can ride Marta to the Greyhound station near the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel.
sorry she was injured and had to be discharged! If she is not registered with the VA, she needs to do that first. Bring DD-214 and photo ID during business hrs to first floor Registration. If her meds are not on the system at the VA pharmacy, then she can go to the VA emergency room to be seen and given a new script.
Has he been treated this week at the VA? He needs to being his DD Form 214 to the registration office (1st floor) to get in the VA hospital system. He can be seen without an appt in the ER. The mental health dept at the Atlanta VA is great. I am praying you can help him access the help he needs.
All you have to do is go to the main office on the hill and they will talk to you there always a opening up there for someone
I'm not a lawyer. But one can sue for malpractice (clear evidence of negligence or intentional variations from established protocols must be proven). One can sue on the grounds of abuse, but again, that has to be proven. VA, overall provides amazing first class medical care. VA is under staffed, and employees are stretched thin. Like most government agencies, VA is underfunded. So, in conclusion, "doing one's job" has to be defined and taken on an individual case by case basis. Can you sue? Yes. Will suing correct the past? Possibly. Will suing benefit you financially? Probably not.
You need to get in contact with your VA Primary care physician and get that information to them
In the ER, one at time but if a patient is coherent and able to talk to the doctor then no one is allowed. On the medical floor, except COVID floors and the ICU's, that visitors are allowed but not for very long times.
There is also Social Workers there in the Emergency room to help you also with information. They are there 24/7 to help you. There is detox program but what they will do is send you to the right place to get the help you need. Remember abuse is a journey but take that first step towards better living and health. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
Marta bus 19 alway late
No
7pm
I don't know anything about Billing but You can always call them and see. They do have emergency rooms. I hope you get what you need.
I had that the last time I was in the hospital in December but I was also taken to DeKalb Medical, they charge over like 1,000.00 I always ask to go to the VA. But have been told that they can't take me to the VA, they told me that you guys did not accept ambulances because there is no place for ambulances.
Not sure when. Call National Call Center
You're wife may come. It required for everyone to wear a mask at all times.
go ahead and fill your backpack up
I wish you luck, call the nurse line after 4
No
Yes the 11th floor Bronze clinic. They specialize in geriatrics like my husband that is in the beginning stages of dementia. I am very pleased with the respect and care he receives there.
Enroll in"My Healthy VA" which allows you to view your records, order prescription and make appointment among other things. The call in system only works if you have the time and patience to call repeatedly because you will get misdirected, disconnected, etc...

There are shuttles from the clinics around Atlanta. If you plan ahead you can sometimes get their volunteer drivers to stop directly at the veterans house. You can find more information about these services through your local VFW, American Legion or DAV. You can also call your father's case worker and ask them for assistance with transportation to identify what is available near you. You can also call the State (of Georgia) veterans affairs office for more information. You are not alone, and neither is your father. Thank you for taking care of our nation's hero.
Walk in main entrance and pay area is right there. No apt needed
I'm not sure but you probably have to call the VA
Hi Quan, I would call and send a message to your doctor to order your medicine for pickup at the Atlanta Va. Center. Then after assuring that has been done I'ld come early to the Atlanta Va. Pharmacy to ensure time to process that day so you can leave with them. Good luck on getting everything to work out in your favor. 👍Call the Atlanta Va. before going there to ensure that they received the order.
Yes. It's at a church that hs shuttle service to the VA. You can call or look online and it gives the name. However, you may be late to your appointment.
Arrive early to park. Once inside, plenty of signage to get u were ur apt is
I go there every morning at about 0645 to get coffee. My day ends at 4pm..and it is still open when i leave.
Monday thru Friday..
Hi Jack, I will only hold if I'm the one doing the calling. Never do I allow someone that called me to put me on hold. I will simply "hang up" if it's important, they'll call back.
The VA would be the perfect place to take this. They would definitely put you in the right hands
Yes they do. However, most individual appointments require the primary care provider to make an entry in the patient's record starting that transportation is medically necessary if transportation is required from the home. The transportation request typically needs to be submitted 7 days prior to the appointment.
You get glasses at optical shop main floor behind Prosthetics
General business opens at 8 a.m. emergency room and Hospital is open 24 hours
Or go straight to the emergency room as most providers are overwhelmed
There are in-house programs used by the VA at different locations.
I agree with Mr.Belcher, you should definitely go be seen at the Emergency Room asap. The best time to go to the E.R. is 6am-12pm.
In not an employee just a veteran. You should contact the human resources at the Decatur va that's where you can start to get answers
You can be treated as an inpatient at the hospital.
I'm not sure but I think you would be able to use someplace more local. Of course the VA would have to approve that. I hope it works out for ya.
Usually 8:00 am
The funeral home should have contact numbers or any Veteran Groups can help to....
I've been to this ER and the fast track also, and it's always been "forever". The last time I went, I got there around 1:00pm, was seen around 11:00pm.
What is the clothing allowance? Are all veterans able to get this?
You must call the VA info. And speak with a nurse.
