They didn’t have the car they allowed me to reserve online and then forced me to upgrade at my own expense for their mistake. No other car company I’ve used does this.

Very disappointed. Went to pick up vehicle that my daughter had rented for a trip we were both going to take to Syracuse New York. She had paid for it in full. She's not have a license, and being her mom I was going to drive. We're going to pick up the vehicle we were told Katie had to be there with her license, which I explained above was not an option. Then they said that my husband come in with his card and transfer the rental to him. The car was already paid for in full and they wanted a $500 deposit and a credit check. Decided to leave and had to use our own vehicle for the long drive. The only positive thing was thankfully we were refunded. Or rather I am still waiting to see the refund on my account. I think they should have posted the policies more clearly, maybe right before you push the button to pay. It was a hassle right before we had to leave, I'm truly disappointment not to have a new vehicle to travel such a long distance. I would suggest reading about these details to avoid any problem for your travel plans.

Ciera was incredibly helpful when I had a follow up issue and left something in the rental. She immediately found the items and held them for me until I got back.

First no one there answers the phone. It took several calls just to reach someone and not a voicemail that "has not been set up yet". Second, they prey on misinformed or under-informed customers. Not everyone is aware that in the US, most rental cars are covered under your own insurance policy. Not only in terms of providing a rental car, but also in terms of your liability and accident insurance being adequate enough to extend to the rental car. This place told my husband that this was untrue and tried charging an additional $50 A DAY on a rental that was through our insurance company. Not only did he lies to try to make more money but he was arrogant and pushy. We asked him to cancel the rental and we went to enterprise. There, the kind employee confirmed (as suspected) our policy extended to the rental and no additional coverage was needed. We won't ever be going back to Hertz.
