Budget Car Rental

On August 30, 2022 I went to this car rental location in Hartford. They were the only rental place to stay open later than 5 and I actually went to this place because the first place I reserved with did not have any vehicles. I got to this location at 5:30 and while I had done a reservation the representative, I believe her name is Maureen, told me I had the wrong reservation. The insurance company finished with our correct reservation at 5:50 and Maureen was sweet enough to process us without rushing us to close at 6pm. The problem was that the computer system had so many glitches. It locked her out of the system, it wouldn’t let her get out of a screen, it wouldn’t accept any credit cards and all through the process Maureen was patient. She restarted he computer several times, called her supervisors, reviewed her old notes and never once did she say I’m sorry I can’t help you come back tomorrow! Maureen was very sweet, patient, and she’s a hard worker! I’m so thankful that she worked with us and the computer issues she was having! The whole process actually got through around 7:30….she practically stayed almost 2 hours just to help us! I was so grateful for her and her patience with her companies computer system! Thank you Maureen! You are truly a dedicated employee!

Terrible experience. There's too much to detail everything that went wrong. Severely understaffed with just one overburdened employee who showed up 30 minutes late and was anything but helpful or friendly with my 80 yo mother. Their incredibly picky system wont accept some credit cards. She wouldn't let us use the bathroom but a large group of people piled in the lobby and several did despite the out of order sign. 90 minutes later, after we assert that she's been taking care of others who came in long after I told her we were ready again she said she didn't have a car available for us, in an aggravated nasty manner. My mother pleaded with her but she escalated quickly and demanded we leave as if she couldn't get us out of her hair any quicker. Worst customer service I've ever witnessed, escalated by an impatient, intolerant staff member. Now I'll probably have to battle to get the prepaid reservation refunded. We immediately went to another car rental agency in Constitution Plaza, without a reservation and drove out happy with a rental in less than 30 minutes. They had plenty of competent staff.

I would not recommend Budget office at the Hartford,Connecticut. 1. Rental are alway dirty 2. Rentals are not service 3. Rental Associates are over work, not enough people there to help, customers!!
