A lot of their prices make Whole Foods seem affordable. And they don’t even list the price for a good portion of their items—you have to ask someone or find out at the front. 2 stars only because the employees are really nice and helpful.

Amazing place

Deli staff used to be awesome! There are new people there now and they are beyond rude. Never going to the deli area again. Rest of the store and employees are great!

Seems like they go out of their way to only stock the most unnecessarily expensive products. Can't even get a box of orange juice at a reasonable price. Produce regularly worse quality and more expensive than other spots. The fancy junk is fine, just throw everyone else a bone too.

They might have a huge rent every month and have to charge higher prices. Organic/green products usually cost a lot more than non organic/green products, and it probably is the same on the wholesale side. And being one store they don't have the buying power that whole foods has so no quantity discounts. That's why convenience stores have higher prices, it's usually one or a small chain of stores that don't get wholesale prices that s Stop and Shop would get, but your paying for the convenience of getting in and out quickly. Plus the fact that they have a swimming pool over their heads (google maps the location. I'll wait.....oh your back already)? Did you see it? The apartments (or luxury condos if they want to add $500 more to the rent every month) must be hell on their property insurance bills every month, so they have to pay it somehow and it's going to come out of the customers pockets. Theres always Dollar General across the street if you don't want organic products....
Well, first of all Hazel, it seems that the website is just for marketing and merchandising purposes. I suggest that if you want to know more about the company, contact them directly. Ask them your questions forthright your inquiries. Use the "contact us" option on their website. Or better yet, if you are in New Haven, visit the store. It's a pleasant retail experience. And that's coming from a person who has been involved with natural foods and living all his life. Plus I've been an entrepreneur in retail and advertising, marketing and public relations. I rate the store with 4.5 stars. It surpassed my expectations. I hope that helps.
They have sales in wellness every month!
You would have to call Elm City for that information.
