We arrived at our Four Season Suites at Itasca State Park and the Douglas Lodge Restaurant is closed. Plan B: drive over to Knob & Kettle Restaurant. The place has the north woods decor, friendly staff. Our server, Savannah, was efficient and friendly. The Fried Walleye was good, a bit too much batter. The Northwoods Prime Rib hit the spot for me with a side of Beer Battered Fries. The best part: we can tap & pay at the table to the server (I recall there is 1 restaurant in Minneapolis that also lets you tap & pay at the table). Who says that restaurant in the north woods are behind in tech? Not this place.

We absolutely love this place! The staff is super friendly, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They have a pool table, jukebox, darts, some arcade games. Highlights of the menu include THE best smoked prime rib for their prime rib dinner specials and their prime rib sandwiches. Everything is home made and delicious from apps to desserts. Don't miss! It was a very busy place on a Friday night and it took us a long time to get our food, but the wait was worth it! The manager (or owner?) checked in with us several times to make sure they hadn’t forgotten about us and or food was being prepared. They were very proud of the their house made batter recipe. Fried walleye bites and walleye sandwich were absolutely first-tier delicious. Totally worth the drive and the wait. Spicy prime beef sandwich was extremely yummy but didn’t have as much heat as advertised. Southwest chicken wrap was good. But the fries were even better! Fried pickles were deep fried spears instead of discs, which was odd for us but good. Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers were delicious, but again very mild spice-wise. Highly recommend!

If you are traveling to Itasca State Park, this is the place to stop for lunch or dinner! You get the lodge look with a five star restaurant. The prime rib was done to perfection. Chicken Alfredo with homemade sauce was very good, salad was crisp and cold, and top it with bread pudding for dessert made by the owner. Our server, Victoria was attentive, efficient with "up north" charm. The bathrooms were spotless. And the dining attendant that was sweeping the floor was very pleasant. What's not to like? When you see the Hubbard County sheriff deputies and MN highway patrol dining here, it's a good indication that this is the place to eat!

Yes on the outside seating. If you want to make reservations that's fine but not necessary.
Yes we are!!
There isn't a separate space for meetings, however, there are two sides and most people perfer the dining side, which leaves the other side open.
