I unfortunately hired a bad carpenter/handyman who ran away with more than half down payment and only completed 10% of the work. Came in today to make a report and was able to speak to someone right away. There was only one other local there making a report. I did not wait long to file a police report. Officer Holden listened with patience and care to my situation. He was diligent and asked questions, made copies of my evidence, and asked me to email additional info. Grateful for his service and his kind professional manner. Thank you to all the police for being so reliable and for keeping our neighborhood safe. Update takes a long time for someone to follow up, still waiting for investigation

My wife and I moved to Paramus 20 years ago. Having grown up in a small town Paramus seemed quite big to me. On several occasions there were events that albeit were not "emergencies" they did indeed require police involvement. Everything from fireworks, racing motorcycles, cars speeding through a street where 5 year old's play to , on one occasion what could have been a car jacking. Each time the police department was courteous, professional, empathic and willing to explain the parameters in which they were able to assist. The response time is par excellent especially given the amount of calls they receive and the traffic on Rt. 17. I can say with a great deal of conviction they uphold their oath and take their life threatening jobs very seriously. They are the bravest and the best. Along with their companion Fire Dept.

I went to go amend a police report. I was encountered by the most racist officer ever. He was very rude and barely acknowledged me when I had a question about the police report and instead continued to watch the tv. He didn’t even tell me if I was going to receive any information regarding it being amended or not. He isn’t professional at all.
