Someone, please judge the judges! They are such bullies abusing people’s time and money.

Excellent experience. I had a preliminary trial today for a custody hearing (I’m a single parent) and the judge was knowledgeable, fair and patient. The deputies in the front did their best to get us all checked in and ensure we weren’t a security risk. The clerks were great too. They processed my documents as quickly as they could and were polite, even after experiencing a rude person before me. (every time I’ve dealt with the clerks in the past has also been nothing but a good experience). The courts are overwhelmed due to the 2020 pandemic. They are doing their best to tend to the back log of cases. I commend Stafford County Juvenile & Domestic Court (and the Stafford courts in general) for their efficiency under these conditions and circumstances.

Have tried twice to find out if a case transfer has been completed and ive either been put on hold for more than 30 mins until i hung up or put on hold until they close and they hang up.

Questions & Answers

I have joint custody and my exhusband is trying to send my son away. What rights do I have

If you have joint legal you both have to approve. Physical and legal are not the same. If one or the other has full legal they do not regardless of whether or not there is a physical custody agreement. You can go to the JDR clerks office and file for an emergency hearing to get the judge involved but it may take some time and depending on the circumstances the judge may or may not grant the hearing.
