Went in October 2022 on a Wednesday to get my M2 endorsement added to my license. Went at 8:20 am and left before 9 am. Place has gotten better in recent years. 10+ years ago I dreaded going to this location. Last visit was a pleasant surprise.

Before you make an appointment or go in person, go to the website and read theougj the section on what you need to do. If you have questions call them to clarify. If you do this crucial step the whole process will go so much smoother for you. The employees are just doing their job, getting angry and yelling at the employees won't make things go faster. If anything it will slow things down.

Great customer service! Isn’t that shocking?? Once heard a customer come out of another DMV saying a worker was meaner than a snake! Not at this Stafford Branch – I was early for my appointment, but they still took me and I was done within 15 minutes! I so dreaded going there – I just imagined being given a bad time – but not so at all!! Thank you, Lidia M, and the lady who checked me in (sorry, didn’t get her name), for being pleasant and efficient. Kudos!

Yes you have to make an appointment as of 2021. Go to www.DMV.Virginia.gov. Click on Appointments, then Schedule an Appointment. Click from the drop down menu which location you want to go to. As of right now, appointments are about 2-3 months out. DMV select offices may have walk-in options available.

Go to any DMV but not this DMV! I tried to get my license and they had no willingness to help me, they lied to me and told me the send my paperwork to HQ even though it was a Saturday and HQ was closed that day! I wish you the best, but save yourself some time and go to a different dmv!
If you check, you pay ... if you're struck out forget it for the next
