I had been looking to rescue a dog for about 3 months. Try after try there was no luck. Many facilities wouldn’t allow us to adopt due to the fact our dog was unaltered or we just lived too far. We drove about 3 hours to this facility, upon meeting “Moxy” we were greeted and assisted. We had to introduce our Bully as well to see if they would be a good match. We were directed to a play area with fences and a little fence inside the fence. Moxy came out screaming, our dog went wild. We spent about 30 minutes trying to get them to even say hello and to calm down. We at first didn’t believe she was right for us but we didn’t really get to see them in action. We viewed another dog, but he wasn’t as energetic as we needed him to be to keep up with our bully. We were on our way out when the supervisor came out, lovely lady! And asked if we could do the introduction again. Seeing how we drove way down to view, we wanted to see a better interaction. She was willing to work with us to be able to save this dog. We eventually got to a point where we could be off lease and ever since we pulled out of the drive way, these two have been inseparable. Literally the best of friends. I do thank this facility for helping us save her. We renamed her “Love” because she so precious and loves love! We thank you guys for helping us find a new friend. Allowing us to have options & working with us to introduce them. I’ve read a lot of reviews on this place and I didn’t find that they do anything wrong. Perfect placement. I would recommend this facility to a family member or friend. After we knew she was coming home. I spent about 10-15 mins doing paperwork. Everything they gave me was informational. Do be aware, bring your own leash and collar if you are planing on taking a friend home. This facility uses loops and well… loops aren’t great. Otherwise, thank you!

Chesterfield county Animal control. They should be open until 5 today
More info on volunteering can be found on their website, by calling, or stopping by.
Yes if you follow them on Facebook or Instagram
Yes they do. I know they have in the past, but with the virus I'm not sure if they'll take them. You have to call and ask.
If it is in a living space, call the non- emergency number. If it is in an attic or garage, then call pest removal
Yes you can I think.
Call animal control, that is animal abandonment and cruelty. They should have dropped if off at the animal shelter. I volunteer at an animal shelter and they say also call animal comtrol if believed that an animal is abandon
Chesterfield wont take him. Try Richmond animal care control.
MI think it depend sin whether your area is zoned agricultural.
Puppies vary day to day because of their popularity. Keep checking or consider an older dog
Why would moving be a hindrance? SPCA has a program that rehomes pets but you pay a fee of $50, I believe, which covers food and vet care. If you can work out keeping the cat, I hope you do. Mine have come with me all over the world.
City ordinance no roosters
No but you should. Dogs need to go outside often not only to go to the bathroom but to play as well. If u dont then u will be finding yourself walking your dog multiple times a day.
The "Nextdoor" app is great for posting things like this. Also, there are facebook pages ("Lost and Found Pets in Chesterfield VA," "Tri-cities & Everywhere VA Lost and Found Pets," etc.) that you can post to as well.
You need to contact a pest removal service, unless the animal appears to be sick or injured.
Ok so if I call them even though they're closed right now they'll still help?
How much is what?
They send their animals to surrounding veterinarians on a regular basis, a couple of times a week, I believe. Spay and neuter is not done onsite here. For reduced rate S&N, call Loving Animal Clinic ... BUT, they schedule two or three months in advance and do not take walk-ins.
