John Carnie is a self absorbed clown that knows little or nothing about constrion. He relies on his subs to do his work. His slap it together concept is not quality! He can brag that he's "King of the Cape", but small man personalities always think they're great! Nothing great about Carney Construction! They should leave out the quality in the name! If you want a sub par home, with issues that will haunt you for your life in that home this might be for you! I suggest you find another builder. Buying up foreclosures and slapping some paint on them doesn't make them quality, quality work does!

John Carney does what he says he'll do. He delivers quality. We couldn't be more happy with our new home. Don't settle for second best. John Carney is second to none. His staff mirrors John's values and it shows. The 2020 pandemic didn't scare us away because of the Carney business reputation and now we are the proud owners of a home that enriches our new marriage. We are grateful.

Buyer beware! Numerous problems relating to the lack of professionalism and honesty. From my experience this permeated throughout the organization from the top down. Errors have been costly and have become way too frequent and bizarre to be regarded as normal, friends of mine have questioned whether some of the mistakes might be deliberate. Transom window which mistakenly got missed off the final plans was cut out of the lanai wall and consisted of one small and one large opening and three attempts had to be made to get it right. Does a professional construction company really need three attempts to cut a square hole in a wall? Wood plank floor tile laid incorrectly in 50% subway tile format throughout half my house which they insist I asked for and which voided the warranty on the tile. I actually picked this mistake up when it could have been relatively easy to rectify but Carney insisted that they had my signature which gave them "cover" to carry on laying the rest of the tile. To me, this speaks volumes about their attitude and it was like that almost from the get go - once the contract was signed. Entry door turning up on site after being told it hadn't yet been ordered and finding out that the door I selected had been involuntarily replaced with a cheap alternative not chosen by me at a cost to me of $6,092.00. I was challenged by staff at Carney's office who tried to "persuade" me that this door was a reasonable substitute because it had square corners! The gray IKO roof shingle I selected was swapped out not just to a brown roof but also another manufacturer altogether of shingle that Carney doesn't even use let alone have color samples for! An office underling emailed me to assure me I was mistaken and that it was definitely IKO tile on my roof when I was looking up at the Tamko packets of tile on the roof of my house ready to be installed! That is some stretch of the truth! From my own experience, I wouldn't have Carney build me a garden shed much less my home. I feel I made a big mistake by not doing more research.
