I joined the conversion class to become Catholic. The church is beautiful and all the people incredibly nice.

TLM is wonderful here. The novus ordo is an absolute nightmare, just like a protestant serive. Makes you wonder what happened to the catholic tradition. Bad eucharistic ministry with women giving out the eucharist like its a complete joke. Protestant music replaced for chants and catholic hymns. Worst of all loud drums to disturb reverence and prayer. I thought mass was a form of prayer like Pope St. John Paul II said. Guess thats not the case here... lets blair drums instead and when the eucharist falls on the floor its no big deal at all. Get real! They literally took a break to sing a song multiple times during mass as if singing is worhsip, no focus on the sacrifice at all. Not sure why the bishop allows this in parishes.

This is my parish I attend, due to it being very close to where I live and I go to the TLM instead of the NO but when I first went to their novus ordo I was absolutely horrified about how much music they play and sing. It’s horrible. It’s not the quality either but this is a MASS not a Protestant concert. I had to remind myself I was in a Catholic Church. They take breaks for singing and there’s drums. I’m always horrified attending the NO. There’s no reverence to Jesus.

Warm and friendly! Getting out of the church is hard.

The Mandarin Food Bank is open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It is not open at all Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays unless you just drop off food near the front of the building. I am not sure of how you could get a job there, but you can volunteer in many ways through dropping off food and feeding the homeless (Homeless Ministry) in Downtown Jax some Saturdays.

Welcome!! Ungortunately, I have never heard of turkey bingo?!! There many smaller groups within the St. Joe's family, perhaps one of them do it? Call the rectory and they will answer your question.
