We’ve been living here since July of last year and up until today things were fine. I was never going to mention anything simply because I over looked some things . The leasing office staff is pleasant to deal with and the maintenance responds quickly. However, we renewed our lease and the rent increased by over $200 a month. What choice do we really have in the current market. With such a huge increase I requested to have our appliances upgraded . I’d consider us model residents , never late on rent , our space is clean and no complaints from neighbors . Ironically our request for upgraded appliances were denied because they “Weren’t budgeted for”. If our rent increased by over $200 , there is money in the budget I’m sure. There’s no reason we should be paying market price OR such a higher price , for a unit that has our dated appliances/nothing changed . We’re literally paying extra money for the same exact thing we’ve had for the last year . The appliances are in good condition because we’ve kept them this way. but again.. $200 rent increase which doesn’t include any utilities . Them increasing our rent by such a large amount wasn’t in our budget but what choice did we have !!!!! I definitely regret renewing the lease and we won’t do it again. With the rent increase and the current renting market there is no reason we should still have white appliances.. literally makes no sense. Our neighbors are extremely loud and their kids are consistently outside on the balcony yelling. I don’t mean just regular noise coming from kids. These kids are screaming , no matter what time of the day it is. The neighbors literally allow trash to accumulate outside of their front door and I have no idea why. The dumpster isn’t far from our building and there is a vallet trash service twice a week. We consistently have people coming here to dump their trash. The dumpsters are frequently over flowing . With the rent increase , they should invest in a gate for the property . Dog poop is an issue that they’ve tried to stay on top of but hasn’t been too successful. Out of all of our neighbors with dogs, I’ve seen only 2 consistently clean up behind their animal. Luckily we have a parking stall but the general parking is horrible. You will not find parking near your home 9 times out of 10. There’s a a tenant with a large number of cats near the mailbox area, often times her cats are prowling the area . I don’t just mean 2-3 cats, the cats are nice but why is this ok. Our closet door actually doesn’t fit and we never complained about that. I’ve just simply gotten used to not pulling the door because if I do it may fall apart . The screens on the secondary bedroom window are pretty worn, we actually can’t open the window because if we do.. bugs will get in . When we moved in we actually had to have them resurface our counter tops. They were not up to par and looked pretty worn. The light bulb in our fridge has been hanging since day 1, sort of a safety hazard if someone hits it. It’s almost like we’re being taken advantage of. You’d think one of the perks of being a good tenant is your apartment management appreciating you and your business .
