I was told by a friend who used to work for the Salvation Army, that the staff would take stuff that people donate for themselves. She literally worked for the company she said, so she knows and that's really messed up that y'all take things for your selves, that's supposed to be for the less fortunate. Smh. SHAME on y'all. π

I'm from out of state and I was so scared going to a shelter with my daughter (she's a toddler) but once I got there they made me feel comfortable. They're professional, kind and very helpful. The entire staff was really nice, understanding and supportive. Rasheeda and the guy who did my intake I'll never forget how kind they were to me during a dark time in my life. I recommend this place to anyone with children.

Did the same thing to me
If they dont have room we had to stay in the lounge when we stayed there its EMERGENCY shelter
They will probably do a birth control test, at the OHS buildinf on Cherry Street or wherecer they send you gor overflow. I do not know how it goes for pregnant mothers with a mate I know red sheild takes families but I think you have to have a child with you besides being pregnant. You can call and ask. Evert family situation differs. Bit if you come here after five they will find somewhere to place you if not here.
To get into any shelter you have to go to cherry st. Osha to have them place you somewhere and you dont get to pick where u go
Please call ASAP
No they don't
Yes
Yes she may, n they will do intake. If it's the weekend she can stay over the weekend or until they find another place where she will do intake and stay if no rooms are available.
No find another way they are terrible
Yes they encourage you to
As ignorant as that reply was I'll pass thank you. Just bcuz someone may need a lil assisstant don't mean nobody can talk to you any kinda way smh. Your reply was utterly ignorant
No you can not just walk in to you have to bee placed there by osha on cherry st. And yes you have to have children
Yes, but you have to have permission from your case manager
I have to be honest in order to enter any shelters in the city of Philadelphia you have to go through the program name OSHA which is on 1400 of Cherry Street down Center City and they have the place you to see if they have any permanent residencies for the red shield Salvation Army also if they don't have any permanent spaces there then they will place you somewhere for the night and you would have to return back to Cherry Street the very next morning Cherry Street opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. everyday you have to be there bright and early first come first serve so if need be drop your kids off at school and then head straight over to Cherry Street
Call in to see if they allow straight drop offs also ask for the director about tax write offs!
Not at all. You will have to go to a singles women's shelter. It don't work that way at all
Can i get the address to that place plzz i need shelter. Im a 25 year old girl who is homeless
This place is only for women and children, sorry to say. And sorry to hear about the fire.
U need to get on osha the shelter never because they have spots 4 women an children. But not single dads with children. If some of us work together. Then we could tell the shelter people that put us out on the street to go to Hell.
