Not sure if it was your 1st time or not. If you've been through several times before with no issues then you might be able to take an angle that something was faulty on their part or that their employee guided you in wrong. Most stuff I see says it's cheaper in the long run to report it to your collision insurance and let them duke it out. But your rates may go up.
I haven't seen them drying since they changed to Shammy's. I use them multiple times a week and I only see hand towels laid out by the vacuums.
I would try Dawn dishwashing liquid, it has a degreaser that works well and it's not abrasive. I'd also try a Mr Clean magic eraser... If that doesn't work most car wash have this weak turpentine that won't get in the clear coat.
