Michael Gordon, People like you are the reason that there is such a negative stigma associated with Methadone. I have been on methadone for quite some time. Now I am an addictions counselor and also work at a methadone program. The program is absolutely what you make of it. Not everyone is in the same place in their journey and all you can do is plant the seed and be available for when someone is ready to get help. At least if people are on a methadone program, regardless of what else they are doing, they are taking the first step in trying to seek out treatment. You sir have a lot of work to do in your recovery if this is how you view people searching for recovery.

This place was a huge part in saving my life! Although the 3 years I was a patient here I could never stay clean long term. My counselors that I had were amazing people. Jason, kaitlyn, and Megan. They are all probably gone by now, and moved on with their Careers. I am celebrating my first year of continuous sobriety, October 15th 2021! I owe a lot to NARP and I want to say thank you! Once I moved I haven’t looked back since! Although I miss the city life, and my family, I am doing amazing and going to school, and working as a commercial fisherman! Much love guys. -Tom

Although this medication has helped me a great deal, to overcome some addiction hurdles. However after years of successful treatment, I am still treated like I was the day I walked in the door 6 years ago - and I am NOT that person. Having maintained honor roll at Strayer University for three years I have almost obtained my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice, have maintained a stable residence and phone number for over 6 years, I feel each case should be treated individually by the patients own merits - not lumped into a general category of “addicts” so the medicine is great but this place isn’t.

With the need for addicts to get treatment, especially during the COVID19 crisis, to actually LOCK THE DOORS ON PATIENTS WAITING OUTSIDE FOR TREATMENT WHO ARRIVED ON TIME, BUT HAD TO WAIT OUTSIDE BECAUSE OF COVID19, SIMPLY BECAUSE as the nurse said "IT'S 9:45 AND I DON'T CARE WHO'S OUT HERE AND HOW LONG THE LINE IS, LOCK THOSE DOORS", leaving 30+ patients without their medication is down right criminal. This isn't the first time it's happened. Addicts are still human and should be treated with respect. This place needs to be investigated for their procedures because they might end up killing someone!

I'm not 100% sure of the steps that needs to be taken to attend.. but I know that an opiate addiction would make you eligible for treatment here...hope that helps!

I know of no clinic that will allow you to be on a benzo and take methadone, regardless of a prescription or not. Just my experience from working in the field for over a decade.
