A really good option if you're stranded in this area.

The roads through Death Canyon were closed today due to flash flooding , so we made it here to Camp Lone pine , , amazing scenery driving on the road to the camp , and the hosts are always terrific friendly and keen to help

I have been to this campsite Many times. More than 50 years ago was my 1st time Creek Fishing for Trout; Rainbow, Brook, and Occasionally an Elusive Brown Trout! Catch Grahoppers Early in the Morning while they are still cold and easy to catch. PLEASE USE BARBLESS HOOKS This allows you to Catch and Release Allowing Others to Experience the Experience. I still smoke 2 in a bed of Coals topped with desirable PreSoaked Wood Chips. Please consult with The California Department of Fish and Game for Licensing, Rules, and Regulations which apply to Lone Pine Creek Aug 2033

One of the best campgrounds I ever stayed. Beautiful surroundings!

It depends on the available food source. If the flora and fauna are good for a season then so will the rodent population and in turn so will will the snake population. Beware though, quite a few years back a very good friend on mines young son was struck in the face by a rather large Timber Rattler right there in the campground.
