Yes. You will be selected by a Union contractor and work 40 hours a week.
There is an application to fill out, a 10 dollar fee for the application, and they require a GED or high school transcript in order to be accepted. You then have a test on basic math and reading comprehension which if you pass leads to an interview with members of NECA and IBEW to determine if you would be a good fit for the program. If you stop by during hours at the front desk they can answer more questions!
500 a year for books and administration fees. You work 40 hours a week and go to school 2 evenings a week. Once you top out make really good money with really great benefits.

As of June 3rd 2019, It starts at $13.58 on the check, and $21.34 total including benefits. Over 5 years of apprenticeship that number goes up and school and work hours are completed. That number also goes up once a year generally around June.
Www.electricaltc.org starting wage is in today's money making 13.58 + benefit package on top of that, scheduled raises through the apprenticeship and after 5 years ending Journeyman wireman pay right now is $30.18 an hr + Benefits payed for on top of that. We have contractual raises for the next 5 years. Yes you may qualify for advanced standing in pay if you have prior verifiable electrical experience. There is a $500 admin fee each year but could be less if you meet the incentive plan. Also 58 college credits for completing our curriculum.
You go to school and to work. School 4 hours 2 nights a week for 5 years. But yes you get paid for any hours worked.
