This is one of the many corporate companies using the overseas spamming companies to call United States Citizens and Residents. I get 3-5 of these calls a day and I’m not even old enough to qualify for Medicare or Medicaid. This company is part of the problem!

As a Sales Agent who has enrolled many health insurance customers for GoHealth over the past 7 years, I can say from experience that they're a dishonest and fraudulent company. Not only have they not paid me the over $3,500 that they owe me (and I've sent them documentation to that effect), but now they claim I owe them over $9,000. Josh Harris from Gohealth's commission department emails me, trying to explain why they reversed my commission and charged me back for customers who had a policy with them for the entire year. The legal issue of most importance though, is that when GoHealth does charge back an agent for their commission, they don't back that amount off the agent's 1099 form. So basically, their scam is that they pay you for signing up a customer, then add that amount to your 1099 form. Next they take that commission back from you, but they never subtract that amount off your 1099 form. So at the end of the year, you end up paying taxes on money they took back from you. If you're an independent sales agent of GoHealth, I'd advise you to have your attorney/accountant look into this. That's what I'm currently in the process of doing. Josh Harris from GoHealth's commission department said he was going to look into this and get back to me the following week (that was several months ago). So now it's time for legal professionals (and the government) to get involved.

I was transferred to this company directly from BCBSIL to enroll in a private healthcare plan. My agent, James Walsh, was pleasant at first— he took my information, enrolled my family in both health and dental plans, advised me on my next steps. Unfortunately, he incorrectly put the start date for one of the plans to be a month later than I needed. I caught this mistake in a confirmation email, called him back to correct, and had to do the entire process over again— annoying but whatever no big deal (although he refused to take any responsibility for this mistake). I tried to make payments during both of these calls and he kept telling me to wait until I got forms in the mail to pay (and then casually threw in that although payment was due 4/1, with Covid and a grace period, I didn’t reaaaaally have to pay until May if I didn’t want to). It took multiple calls and hours afterward with BCBS to straighten out my policies (there were now multiple applications, as he submitted new ones because of his date mistake),and make payments. He was incorrect: the policies weren’t in effect until the first payment was collected, which meant that my family (infant son included) wasn’t covered, during a pandemic, for 5 days of April as I waited for further correspondence in the mail, as he instructed me to do. When he finally called me back (a call I’d placed a week prior, when I was desperately trying to figure out how to get my policy numbers to take my baby to the doctor), he was argumentative and aggressive and told me he was too busy to respond to calls in a timely manner. He also told me multiple times that he could see on his computer that my policies were all “good to go,” although when pressed, he did say that he couldn’t actually see payments posted or if the policies were even active. Would he have spoken to me this way if I weren’t a young woman? Probably not. Insurance is hard as it is. An agent should be there to help the process and at the very least, provide accurate information to protect your family in case of emergency. Had I followed his instruction, I’d have been unknowingly uninsured as I navigated a newly diagnosed allergy in my child and who knows what else could have come up. If James Walsh answers your transferred call to sign you up with private health insurance, request someone else if you want to get headache free coverage, or accurate information, or just not yelled at.

Do employees get paid on time

Hourly? More likely than not you'll get paid on time. Commission? There's bound to be discrepancies in your check and you will need to provide proof of what you've earned versus what you were paid for it to be resolved.
