The Hotel Ithaca

We stayed here August 2-4 in room 237. It was the worst hotel experience we have both encountered. When we checked in, two employees were in our room already, which was very strange. They claimed to be "checking to see if everything is ok" which is "why" they were in our room. However, I noticed immediately the dank smell as well as the prior guests' hair that was not cleaned up on the bathroom floor, so I am not sure what those employees were doing in there. It kept getting worse. We looked outside the dreary drapes and over the air conditioner from 1970 and noticed we had a view of absolutely nothing. A concrete wall. No sunlight. The room was extremely dark and smelt of mould when the 1970's air conditioner was not on. There was no water pressure in the sink, there would only be a dribble of water that came out if you turned it on to its full capacity. The best part was when the family with a baby moved in next to us and we realized the walls were made out of paper as it seemed that we were in the room with them. The baby cried for hours at a time, including during the period of 1 AM to 230 AM. We were fed up and called the front desk to ask if they could help but they did absolutely nothing. They didn't even call the other room to see if everything was okay (we know this because we could hear every single word of what was happening in room 239). Because of all of this we decided we were going to leave one day early and give up our second night. This was one the worst place we have stayed in our travelling life (we have travelled quite a bit too all over the world).

Very disappointing for the price. Will not be staying there again. Here’s the list. -couldn’t get into our room until 4 hours after check-in time -found hair, bottle caps, and half drunk coffee in the room from previous guest -internet was patchy at best -room phone was broken -bubbling wallpaper and ceiling damage in bathroom -full length mirror and mini fridge missing entirely. Informed the front desk about these items during our three night stay and nothing was done.

My family loved the stay here. The hotel is in a very convenient location close to restaurants and groceries. Easy parking. The room was clean and the patio is great.

The Hotel Ithaca is located right in the middle of Ithaca, walking distance from Ithaca Commons and other Ithaca spots. The rooms are spacious and clean. Well-equiped gym and has a lot of conference rooms for your business needs.
