Leo is a great barber. Not sure if it’s just me, but he’s not much of a conversationalist. Which can be nice. I can close my eyes and relax while he works efficiently (but sometimes answering phone calls during my haircut) and with serious skill! The place is usually very busy because the pricing is so good, and it’s close to Schaumburg. Sometimes you might have to wait, but many barbershops get behind when people are late. That’s me a lot unfortunately, but he still gets me in. I’ve had threading and eyebrow waxing done here several times, and it’s also very affordable. Like $8, I believe, and men’s haircuts are anywhere from $13-$17, but I typically pay $15 or $17. I tip 30% so usually it’s $20 for a haircut. That takes about 15 mins (my hair is medium-short with a pompadour, though). Sometimes he seems to arbitrarily charge more or less, and once said it was because of the type of guard he used. I kind of scoffed at that. “A 1 fade is $2 more.” Like what? Whatever, still a great place and super cheap if you’re on a budget. I drive from Bucktown (Chicago proper) just to get his work sometimes, when I don’t wanna pay $60 with a tip for a haircut and a partial therapy session with my hairdresser down the street. This business used to accept online bookings through Google, and for some inexplicable reason—I asked and he didn’t provide any—they stopped. Online booking is pretty much standard… it’s 2022. Plus you can charge someone for no-shows, and you don’t have to be constantly answering phone calls to schedule clients while you’re WITH a paying customer. Again, not a huge deal, but I think they should reconsider because it’s more convenient, pragmatic, and professional. Still 5 stars though!!!
