Love the area! Clean bathrooms with light's clean showers and reasonable prices!! The only thing I didn't like was the face that the spots are more RV made when it comes to spots for a tent... Hardly any shade at all and hardly any grassy areas to setup a tent...the non electric tent sites are over ran with tall grass so u can't even see them let alone get to one of them... And like all other campgrounds RVs are closer to the bathroom than tents are and I don't think that should be ok!! I mean RVs has bathrooms inside them TENTS DO NOT!! So since people from tents use the facilities more than people in RVs then shouldn't People with TENTS be more accessible to the bathrooms???

There is multiple snakes in the water near the rocks at campsite A10. I have sat here and drank a cup of coffee and seen seven going to the same area. Careful

I love living in this area, I'm less than 10 minutes from all of my favorite fishing areas on 3 different lakes. Crab orchard, devils kitchen and grassy lakes. Never a bad experience. Always clean, easy parking and anyone you run into is friendly.

My hubby and myself arrived at the Crab Orchard Campground on August 20th afternoon to try our luck - grab a camp spot for watching the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse! No luck, no vacancy at all. It was burning hot and cicadas in the trees made us even more worrisome. Here Chatheryn and Paula the two ranger ladies offered warmhearted help - hand-writing information of four other campgrounds for us to call. When searching for more information for helping us out, here came a cancellation call! Chatheryn and Paula, here we thank you not just for the campground spot, but especially for your kindness, caring, customer devotion and professionalism. For thanking the two ladies, here let me share two iphone pictures taken at 1:21 pm, August 21, 2017, when the 2017 total solar eclipse taking place at Crab Orchard Campground.

Yes
Have stayed there often and never had any problems with leaving stuff out. It's quite and peaceful there
The tent designated spots do not have electricity. However, you can put your tent on a camper site that does have electricity. It will cost a few dollars more for a camper site than a tent site.
There are 11 full hook-ups
yes one close to campgrounds and several around the lake
