Nice clean simple Amtrak station but a little too small for Carbondale. Hope they get the larger one built they've been discussing. Train ride itself fantastic. Love riding Amtrak.

My first train ride through Carbondale occurred pre-Amtrak and the station was deplorable back then. The next trip I recall was in 1990(?) via Du Quoin and the new station had been built and things were decidedly better. On my last trip (2018), it was even better to me because I was able to see more of the immediate area and train-watch while waiting for my connection.

I was not the passenger I was only the pickup person. I called the 800 number to check to see what time the train was due to come in to Carbondale, Il. The automated message told the time to expect it's arrival. The train came on the dime! I was very happy and surprised for the accuracy of the info. Thanks Amtrak! It made a pleasant experience for me. Keep up the good work!

I needed help concerning my trip. The lady at the ticket counter "Carbondale Il. Station at 1 30 pm thurs. Oct 3rd was exceptional. Great service. Clean station Deserves recognition for a job well done. Thank you.
